Bodies of massacred Jews found on Temple Mount?

The bodies of Jews who were massacred by the Romans during the destruction of the Second Temple some 1940 years ago may have been found on the Temple Mount.

According to daily newspaper Israel HaYom, [archaeological journalist Benny] Liss screened a video clearly showing thousands of human skeletons in what appears to be a mass grave.
Liss "told the amazed audience that the film had been shot in a spacious, underground cavern in the area of the Mercy Gate [Sha'ar Harachamim in Hebrew, a sealed gate in the wall of the Old City, opposite the Mount of Olives, ed.], near the eastern wall of the Temple Mount, but just outside it," the newspaper reported. Liss raised the possibility that the skeletons were the remains of 6,000 Jews, mostly women and children, killed on the Temple Mount when the Romans destroyed the Second Temple.
The massacre is described in the writings of Josephus Flavius, who defected from the Jewish to the Roman side and witnessed the destruction.
The movie shows Liss entering the cave, followed by a lighting technician and cameraman. The three first pass through a narrow passage and then enter the cave with the skeletal remains. As soon as Liss left the cave, Antiquities Authority (IAA) staff resealed the entrance to it, he said.
"The Romans stayed on the Temple Mount for a month after the destruction of the Temple until going on to conquer the upper city [today's Jewish Quarter],” says Liss. “They had to get rid of the thousands of decomposing bodies and the most obvious place to do this would have been the natural caves on the upper slope of the mount, around Mercy Gate."

Hmmm. By the way, because the IAA resealed the cave entrance, the official line is that 'no one can determine' whether the bodies are Jewish or Muslim.

WARSAW, Poland (AP) — A spokesman for Auschwitz museum says the last surviving member of a group of prisoners that escaped the German Nazi concentration camp in 1942 has died.
Spokesman Pawel Sawicki said Monday that August Kowalczyk died Sunday at a hospice he helped found in the town of Oswiecim in southern Poland where the former camp is located. He was 90 years old.
Kowalczyk was brought to Auschwitz in December 1940. In June 1942 he was among 50 Polish inmates who tried to flee the camp while working in the fields. Most were killed in the attempt and only nine escaped. Kowalczyk was the last known survivor.
Kowalczyk became a popular actor and spent his lifetime telling his story to younger generations.
Some 1.5 million people, mostly Jews, were killed at Auschwitz from 1940-45.

* All the edges and corners are rounded off. Much like eyeball-targeted pointy projectiles, splinters encourage character, wisdom, and prudence.
* It’s made from the same wood as Gibson guitars.
* 3am barefoot-parent bathroom-in-the-dark toe-stubbing hazard.
* Patently deceptive, yet extremely cool, atomic mushroom-cloud on the box the toy comes in. The missiles that come with the toy are only designed to air-burst, which creates a spherical explosion.

The alliance was conducting a recovery operation at the site, it said, without releasing details or a casualty figure.
“We are aware of an incident involving a helicopter in eastern Afghanistan,” said U.S. Air Force Capt. Justin Brockhoff, a NATO spokesman. “We are in the process of accessing the facts.”
The helicopter was a twin-rotor Chinook, which are used for transport, said an official at NATO headquarters in Brussels, speaking on condition of anonymity.
The Chinook was hit by a rocket-propelled grenade, a military source reportedly told the New York Times.
Gen. Abdul Qayoom Baqizoy, police chief of Wardak, told the Times that the joint NATO-Afghan operation began around 1 a.m. Saturday with an attack on a Taliban compound in the village of Jaw-e-mekh Zareen.
He said the resulting firefight lasted at least two hours.The majority of foreign troops in Wardak, which comes under ISAF’s eastern regional command, are American.
The Washington Post reported that a second coalition helicopter made a “precautionary landing” Saturday in Afghanistan’s Khost province. Brockhoff, the NATO spokesman, said the helicopter sustained minor damage and no injuries were reported. He rejected Taliban claims that the second aircraft had been shot down.
Aircraft crashes are relatively frequent in Afghanistan, where insecurity and difficult terrain make air travel essential for coalition forces transporting troops and equipment.There have been at least 17 coalition and Afghan aircraft crashes in Afghanistan this year. Most of the crashes are attributed to pilot errors, weather conditions or mechanical failures. However, the coalition has confirmed that at least one CH-47F Chinook helicopter was hit by a rocket-propelled grenade on July 25, injuring two crewmembers.
Growing unease
The incident comes only two weeks after the start of a gradual process of handing security responsibility from foreign forces to Afghan troops and police, and at a time of growing unease about the increasingly unpopular and costly war.
That process is due to end with all foreign combat troops leaving Afghanistan by the end of 2014, but some U.S. lawmakers have already questioned whether that handover is fast enough.
The crash was by far the worst incident of the war for foreign troops and easily surpassed the worst incidents of battlefield losses.In April 2005, another CH-47 Chinook helicopter crashed, killing 15 U.S. servicemen and three civilian contractors. Another Chinook crash in June the same year killed 17 U.S. troops.
U.S. and other NATO commanders have claimed success in reversing the momentum of a growing insurgency in the Taliban heartland in the south, although insurgents have shown a worrying ability to adapt their tactics and mount major attacks in other areas.

The crash in Wardak means that at least 374 foreign troops have been killed so far in 2011, more than two-thirds of them American, according to independent monitor www.icasualties.com and figures kept by Reuters.
Despite the alarming military toll, ordinary Afghan civilians have continued to bear the brunt of the war, with civilian casualties also hitting record levels in the first six months of this year, according to U.N. figures.Earlier on Saturday, Afghan police said a NATO airstrike killed eight civilians in southern Helmand province on Friday.
ISAF confirmed there had been an airstrike in Helmand’s Nad Ali district and said it was investigating whether civilians had been present at the time. Helmand, a Taliban stronghold, is the deadliest province in Afghanistan for international troops.
Civilian casualties caused by foreign troops hunting Taliban fighters and other insurgents have long been a major source of friction between Kabul and its Western backers.
Nad Ali district police chief Shidi Khan said the airstrike was called in after insurgents attacked ISAF troops in the area.

Syrians slaughtered, but U.N. too busy condemning Israel 3 times at View from Geneva

(unwatch) As Syrians continue to be slaughtered, the U.N. is once again too busy condemning Israel to respond to those pleading for help in Aleppo and elsewhere.
The world body’s Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), the principal organ under the U.N. Charter tasked with addressing human rights and fundamental freedoms, has just concluded its annual session by turning a blind eye to the ongoing massacres by the Assad regime. Instead,  a list of all its resolutions for the entire world shows that ECOSOC condemned only one single country: Israel. Two resolutions were adopted against Israel, and one report.

Sponsored by Algeria for the Third World grouping known as G-77, and by Turkey, a one-sided and politicized resolution was adopted on July 26 with the following title: “Economic and social repercussions of the Israeli occupation on the living conditions of the Palestinian people in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, and the Arab population in the occupied Syrian Golan.”
It passed by an automatic and massive majority of 45 to 2, with only Canada and the United States having the courage to say no. Australia, Cameroon and El Salvador abstained. (MORE)

Without any sense of shame, the resolution urges Israel to “facilitate visits of the Syrian citizens of the occupied Syrian Golan whose family members reside in their mother homeland, the Syrian Arab Republic” (par. 13).
In other words, the U.N. human rights session had the gall to actually address Syria without mentioning a word about the Syrians now being bombed, gunned down and mutilated. Instead, Syria was mentioned only for the purpose of demonizing Israel.
The hypocrisy gets worse. At a time when millions of Syrians are desperately seeking to flee Assad’s terror, a massive U.N. majority, acting through the only country resolution of the session, has just urged Israel to enable people — the Druze of the Golan Heights – to travel to Syria. No joke.

Former Critic of ‘Islamophobia’ Calls Michele Bachmann ‘Courageous’

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) is receiving support for her recent statements on the Muslim Brotherhood from an interesting source: Eric Allen Bell, a former supporter of an Islamic mosque who did a 180 degree turn after research convinced him that reality of Islam is quite different than it’s portrayed by the left.
In an interview, Bell called Bachmann “unbelievably courageous” and said he believes that “the Islamization of the West is the defining issue of our time.”

Eric Allen Bell is one of today’s most outspoken voices on the dangers posed by Islam’s war on the West, but the Los Angeles based filmmaker actually began his journey planning to expose “Islamophobia.” Bell used to be a hero of the left, garnering praise from Michael Moore and DailyKos for his film project that set out to show that opposition to a proposed Mega-Mosque in Murfreesboro, Tennessee was coming from conservative crackpots.

A funny thing happened as Bell worked on the film; he ran into the truth about Islam. The truth wasn’t pretty, nor did it jibe with the narrative that the left spins about Islam as a “religion of peace.”
When Bell began to discuss the truth about Islam’s dangers, the funding for his film dried up and his former friends on the left began their attacks–a process familiar to anyone who has seen what happens when the left’s narrative is challenged.
Now, Bell has written a number of pieces for Frontpage, the website founded by former leftist radical turned conservtive David Horowitz, that tells what he’s learned about Islam, its “soft jihad” against the West, and the support that it has from the left.
In this excerpt from my recent interview with Bell, he discusses one of the reasons the Muslim Brotherhood is dangerous and how he feels about Rep. Bachmann’s recent remarks that earned her scorn from the mainstream media and even 2008 Republican presidential candidate John McCain.
Bell said:

There are numerous Muslim Brotherhood front groups that have found there way into our society, our culture, our legal system, politics, media, academia. And what’s concerning about that during the “Holy Land” trial that was the largest bust by the FBI of an Islamic charity funneling money to Islamic terrorism–by the way, in Islam terrorism is a a form of charity–during that bust it was exposed that the Muslim Brotherhood had all these front groups and had in their charter, a memo that said their objective was that they were sowing “civilization jiihad,” and the point of civilization jihad was that it was a soft jihad, a non-violent jihad and the objective was the destroy the West from the inside by its own evil hand.

When you use words like “infilitration,” that probably sounds paranoid to the general public but if anyone does the actual research, that’s exactly what’s happening–especially under this administration. For Bachmann to have done the research and just tell it like it is, knowing the political cost, is unbelievably courageous and I wish more leaders would support her in doing this and get behind this because the Islamization of the West is the defining issue of our time and if we don’t wake up to do something about it now, it’ll be too late.

(Carl) The United States and India are both interested in learning about Israel's border security fences according to a report in Monday's Jerusalem Post.

A growing number of countries are flocking to Israel to study border security as the Defense Ministry works to complete the construction of a physical and technological barrier along the Egyptian border.
In August, a delegation from India will arrive to study the various technologies used by the IDF to secure the borders with the Gaza Strip, the West Bank and Egypt, and which could be implemented as part of India’s own fence with Pakistan and Bangladesh.

India is interested in beefing up its border security to prevent future incidents like the Mumbai attacks in 2008.
The Indian press reported Sunday on a tunnel that had been discovered under the border with Pakistan in the contested Kashmir region.
Another country closely following Israel’s decisions on border security is the US, which is building a barrier along its border with Mexico.
The Department of Homeland Security is, for example, testing the ELM-2112 family of persistent ground surveillance radars, developed by Elta Systems, a subsidiary of Israel Aerospace Industries, and used by the IDF to detect intruders before they reach the border.
Five different versions detect individuals at ranges from 300 m. up to 20 km., and vehicles at up to 40 km.
The radars feature four stationary antennas, each covering a 90-degree sector enabling persistent surveillance and tracking over a wide area.

Of course, none of those countries will have to deal with a Supreme Court that knows nothing about security but dictates the fence's route. Nor will they have to worry about the International Court in the Hague, or various bodies of the United Nations getting involved and condemning them.

But amid shrinking numbers and increasing assimilation, their ability to evoke this heritage has withered to a few tangible remnants: the people, the Torah, the food. Ultimately, it isn’t religion at all to which this small remaining cluster of Jews is clinging; it’s to each other.
In a part of the world where religion had become a defining element of ongoing conflict, there may be even greater reason to cling—consciously or subconsciously—to a distant past, to the common identity found in traditions and in ceremony. Yet here, the substance of the religions themselves buried any political identities they bequeath. We had come to the synagogue expecting to find a religious fervor hidden amid a thriving and often hostile Muslim environment. Instead we found little more than a cluster of the elderly, the last of a dying breed—too old and too tired to make any real attempt at a Jewish revival.

Sounds like a lot of Jews outside of Egypt. Is it because the rest of the world is getting like Egypt? How many of us still think we can bless the Palestinians for Peace? How many of us are still clinging to Mubarak and the past? These Egyptian Jews sound a lot like the Jews who voted for Obama.

India Accuses Iran’s ‘Guards’ of Terror Attack

The feared Iranian Revolutionary Guard was behind January’s terrorist attack on the wife of an Israeli diplomat in February, Indian police charged Monday.

India previously has agreed with Israel that Iranian terrorists were involved in the attack, but Monday’s report in the Times of India was the first time the Guards were named. A magnetic bomb destroyed the vehicle in which the woman, Tal Yehoshua Koren, was riding. She managed to escape with her life by noticing that an attack was taking place. She jumped out of the car as the bomb exploded and suffered serous injuries.
The investigation by New Delhi police sates that members of the Guards “discussed the plan to attack the Israeli diplomats in India and other countries with Indian journalist Side Mohammad Ahmad Kazmi in January 2011, after Iranian scientists had been attacked allegedly by the Israelis,” the newspaper reported.
Kazmi allegedly was in contact with the Guards for almost 10 years.
Sedaghatzadeh Masoud, the suspected leader of the terrorist cell, is thought to have planned the attacks on Israelis and Jews in Georgia and Bangkok.

Cantor blasts Pelosi's anti-Semitic remarks

(Carl) House majority leader Eric Cantor (R-Va) blasted anti-Semitic remarks made about Jewish Republicans by minority leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Ca) in an interview over the weekend, calling them 'patronizing' and 'insulting.'

“It is both patronizing and deeply insulting for Nancy Pelosi to suggest any Jew is 'exploited' for their political beliefs or that support for Israel is somehow an 'excuse' for anything," Cantor (R-Va.) said in a statement.
During the TV interview, Pelosi agreed with the interviewer that Republican Jewish supporters are very politically active and that Jewish voters are intelligent enough to understand the situation.
"Well, that’s how they’re being exploited,” she said. “And they’re smart people. They follow these issues. But they have to know the facts. And the fact is that President Obama has been the strongest person in terms of sanctions on Iran, which is important to Israel.”
Pelosi also is facing criticism that she implied Obama as president has been to Israel "over and over again."
President Obama has not been to Israel since taking office. He did travel to the country during his 2008 presidential campaign and reportedly went twice as a senator.

Let me guess: No one can find any record of him having been here as a Senator. Just like Occidental and Columbia....

What very few people know is that European companies and scientists gave Iran, Syria, Libya and Iraq the material to attempt to kill the Jews, again.
In 1992 a 100-page report, prepared by the Paris-based Middle East Defence News, listed about 300 European firms which the centre said it believed had "played a significant role in the unconventional weapons programmes in Iran, Syria and Libya".
Germany topped the list of suppliers with 100, the report said, then 29 French, 22 British, 13 Italian and 13 Swiss.
German companies have played a crucial role in helping Iran to build a chemical weapons industry, and have illegally supplied nerve gas precursor chemicals," the report said. It said France had played a "crucial role...in helping Syria to develop both a chemical weapons and a biological weapons capability".
The West German firm Degussa supplied of chemicals to Libya used to manufacture poison gas. This company also owned a 42.5 per cent share in the Degesch company, which supplied the Zyklon B gas used in the death camps. Degesch is the acronym for "Deutsche Gesellschaft fuer Schaedlingsbekaempfung", a company for the extermination of vermin.
It developed the method of using hydrogen cyanide, Zyklon B, as an ingredient in its fumigation gas for buildings and ships. The gas it supplied to Auschwitz was used in the killing of two million Jews.
"For years, Iraqi officers had asked us how it had been with the gassing of the Jews." said Maj. Gen. Karl-Heinz Nagler, former head of the East German Army's chemical service, who had trained the Iraqi Army in chemical warfare for 15 years.
The manufacturing of di-fluoro - from which nerve gas is obtained - requires resistant glass components. Two German companies gave these to the Syrians.
French scientific institutes also played a role, through scientific exchanges.
