(Norway and the Jews)
...You don’t reveal your friends: Aftenposten runs a story on how prominent politicians on the left, journalists, academics and also diplomats, at an early point of their career may have been spying for Stasi, the then almighty secret police of defunct DDR.
Briefly summarized, the context of the article is how the CIA got hold of the Rosenholz files in 1992, and how information contained in these filed were forwarded to other countries, among them Norway, Sweden, Denmark, the UK.But while historians and researchers have had access to this information in Denmark and Sweden, so far, the files have been closed to the public – and Norwegian historians have curiously uninterested in discovering the material. As a result, 50 foreign historians and researchers have requested access to the files. According to a Norwegian historian, Nikolai Brandal, the reason for Norwegian reluctance to investigate the files – in addtion to the outcome of the Lund Commission, may very well be that investigators, journalists are unwilling to rat on their friends.
I am willing to bet that Norwegian Stasi informants were found in the Socialistic Left party, or on the left fringes of the Labor party and the Labor youth organization. With Treholt as a model I am pretty confident that there were young men with an exaggerated self image and even more exaggerated belief in their own importance, easily were talked into crossing most red lines. I would have looked among youth politicians who went on study tours to East block countries, junior diplomats and political journalists, Brandal says to Aftenposten.no.

Guess who was missing when Erdogan spoke at the UN
When Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan addressed the UN General Assembly last Thursday, there were a few people missing: The Arabs (Hat Tip: IsraelMatzav/Daily Alert) Yet it is usually known who will speak at what time in the U.N. If the leader of a country who said he would “support you to the end,” if that person has changed his or her general attitude in a dramatic way and if it he or she the leader of a country like Turkey, which has the appeal to both the Arab streets and the Palestinian people, than the minimum courtesy required would be to go to the General Assembly and listen to him speak. None of them was there and this shows us some realities. The Arab people like us. But today, the policies of current rulers of the Arab countries are based on competing with each other and hampering each other. We should not take those who are giving us a pat on the shoulder too serious. Our politics should reflect our interests. There should be no room for emotions. In the end I understood that I was looking for Abbas and other Arab leaders in vain. Anyone still think Erdogan's support for the 'Palestinians' doesn't stem from the fact that he is an anti-Semite? |

Obama Rejected by MTV
MTV is tuning Obama out.(Jammie Wearing Fool) President
Obama’s re-election campaign wants to connect with young Americans and reached out recently to MTV for help -- but the cable network turned them down, sources tell The Post. The president’s Get Out the Vote campaign, run by Buffy Wicks, concerned the high unemployment rate of the so-called millennial generation would turn them off to their candidate, asked the network of “Jersey Shore” about helping to supply
them with ideas on how to deal with their, er, situation. The campaign called MTV’s internal ad agency, MTV Scratch, for assistance in
mid-August, sources familiar with the conversations said. MTV Scratch, run by Ross Martin, former MTVU boss, and Anne Hubert, who was a policy adviser to Jon Corzine when he was a US senator from New Jersey, works across all the MTV Networks and helps marketers such as General Motors and Dr. Pepper understand the mind-set of young people. The re-election effort wants to reconnect with youth, which were among its most fervent supporters in 2008.“The youth initiative is having trouble with big donors and youth votes,” said a person familiar with the discussions. “They asked, ‘Can you tell us how we should be talking to them?’ ” one source notedCourt hears how bacon led to Big Mac attack| @brooksbayne how about this bacon story?

(News.Com.AU) Mouhamad Khaled and Daphne Austin leaving Burwood Court after appearing on charges relating to a brawl at a McDonalds restaurant Daphne Austin and Walid Khaled leaving Burwood Court after appearing on charges relating to a brawl at a McDonalds restaurant. It was a bloody brawl allegedly sparked by a hamburger with bacon. Now 32 witnesses will be called to give evidence at a hearing about how an incorrect order allegedly led to a violent assault on two police officers at a McDonald's in April. Mouhamad Khaled, 23, his 20-year-old girlfriend Daphne Florence Austin and his father Walid Khaled, 53, have been charged over the brawl at the Bankstown fast food outlet. In Burwood Local Court yesterday, Magistrate Christopher Longley set a hearing date in February for Austin and Walid Khaled, who have each pleaded not guilty to charges linked to the brawl. Mr Longley was told the prosecution will call 29 witnesses and the defence will call three people. Mouhamad Khaled is yet to enter a plea to six charges, including inflicting grievous bodily harm on a police officer, and will be dealt with at a separate hearing. Police allege the trouble began when the group began abusing counter staff because their hamburger contained bacon. Police who were on the premises spoke to Walid Khaled about his alleged offensive behaviour. When he allegedly continued to swear, police tried to arrest him. Police allege they were assaulted by Mouhamad Khaled and Austin, prompting them to use capsicum spray and batons. As they attempted to restrain Mouhamad Khaled he allegedly grabbed their handcuffs and assaulted them. He struck probationary Constable Matthew Sutherland on the head before swinging them at Senior Constable Alicia Bridges, hitting her. Austin is charged with assaulting and hindering police, and Walid Khaled with resisting police, behaving in an offensive manner and offensive language.Mouhamad Khaled spent four months in custody before being granted bail in the Supreme Court.Burwood Local Court was told in August that Austin is due to give birth in November.Another American Liberal Jew Stupid Enough To Think Better of The Iranians
(YNet) Joshua Fattal, 29, one of the two American hikers released from an Iranian prison last week, is the son of an Israeli citizen and has visited the country many times over the years. After spending 781 days behind bars in Iran, Fattal and his friend Shane Bauer returned to the United States on Sunday. I suppose he is proud of how open minded he is.
Fattal's father, Jacob, was born in Iraq and immigrated to Israel, only to move to the United States later on. His son has visited Israel numerous times over the years, including a short trip prior to his and Bauer's hiking trip. (MORE)
Major Al-Jazeera Journalist Admits To Being Hamas Operative
Allawi made a number of trips to Syria where he reported directly to Mousa Abu Marzook, Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal’s deputy on his activities. the Shin Bet said. Abu Marzook offered Allawi a position as Hamas’s official representative in Iran, but he claims he rejected the offer.According to Allawi, there are a number of Hamas operatives who work fo r Al Jazeera, and he was a frequent liaison between them and the organization. Allawi's confession was part of a plea bargain, which gained him a three-year suspended sentence. My own opinion is that Allawi was in the 'Palestinian' occupied area in Judea and Samaria ( AKA the West Bank) carrying out another liaison mission for Hamas, and that his arrest by the Shin Bet was designed to get him out of the area.
NY drops eye test for driver's license renewal
You don't need to be intending to make babies within marriage to get married and now you can drive blind. Why should a marriage license be any different then a driver's license? That does have a certain logic.
(NYPost)ALBANY, N.Y. — New York is dropping its requirement for vision tests to make it easier for drivers to renew licenses online or by mail.Department of Motor Vehicles Commissioner Barbara Fiala said in a statement Monday that the change is one of several stemming from Gov. Andrew Cuomo's call for streamlining by state agencies. Another change is a new Internet application, "MyDMV," which allows customers to set up personal online accounts to do business with DMV. Starting Wednesday, drivers will "self-certify" that they meet the vision requirement when they renew. New licenses and commercial licenses will still require eye tests at a DMV office or by a doctor. Fiala said vision testing wasn't required in New York from 1993-2000, and six other states don't require eye tests for renewals.
