MADISON AVENUE challenged Advertising Agencies all over the country to tackle the “misperceptions” of Islam

Labels: »
Adweek editors Eleftheria Parpis and Brian Morrissey challenged over 30 agencies to apply their communications skills to address the issue. ONLY FIVE even took the challenge. And none were from the leaders in the advertising industry – they knew better than to accept a challenge that was a guaranteed loser going in.  ADWEEK - The controversy over the proposed site of the (Park 51) Ground Zero Victory Mosque two blocks from Ground Zero has inspired a fervent national debate about religious freedom and tolerance and protecting the sanctity of a site where thousands perished in the World Trade Center attacks. According to a Time magazine poll conducted last year, 61 percent of 1,000 adults surveyed opposed the project, while 26 percent supported it. Just 23 percent said it would be a symbol of religious tolerance, while 44 percent said it would be an insult to those who died on 9/11. Additionally, 46 percent of those polled believed Islam was more likely than other faiths to encourage violence against non-believers, although only 37 percent said they knew a Muslim American. The challenge posed was to change the perceptions of ordinary Americans toward Islam and Muslims, and encourage dialog between those who oppose and support the building of the community center. Participants were free to choose whatever media they felt would be most effective in communicating their ideas. Here are the agencies’ visions and the summaries of their strategic thinking, in their own words. more via barenakedislam.wordpress.com

Mexican demands Mexican Lawyer... from U.S. DEATH ROW

He was not told he could have access to Mexican consular officials, in violation of the Vienna Convention. The Obama administration has urged Texas to delay the execution of a Mexican man, saying it would put the US in breach of international obligations.
A state department spokeswoman said that the federal government had filed a brief on Friday with the US Supreme Court, supporting Leal's argument for a stay of execution until the end of the year.
"The imminent execution of petitioner would place the United States in irreparable breach of its international law obligation," US Solicitor General Donald Verrilli wrote in the brief.
It would have "serious repercussions for United States foreign relations, law enforcement and other co-operation with Mexico, and the ability of American citizens travelling abroad to have the benefits of consular assistance in the event of detention". via bbc.co.uk
While I like Rick Perry I have to wonder what the reprecussions of this could be for Americans going to Mexico.

Another Renegade Woman in the Schools: Before Atlanta There Was Newark, NJ

Labels: » » » » »
Before coming to Atlanta to be the superintendent of schools Beverly Hall was the superintendent of schools in Newark, New Jersey, where surprise, surprise, allegations of intimidation and coercion were also made against her.
Mr. Embrey, the former Principal of West Side High School now under house arrest, was brave enough to speak out for the children.
here is what one parent had to say at that meeting in New Jersey: Allegedly, Hall has since attempted to deny parents their 1st Amendment rights by sending investigators to the homes of parents who speak out at Advisory Board meetings.

A report from 1997 also contains allegations of mismanagement and misuse of funds, cronyism and the picture of a woman who ruled with an iron fist and would tolerate no insubordination in the ranks while painting only a rosy picture of the system she was in charge of. Something she continued when she relocated to Atlanta in 1999. So if you want to read yet another damming report on this All Star of Academia go ahead and click on the link. via jammie wearing fool
what a terror! and kind of familiar. people who send their children to get an education do not deserve to have their rights taken away!  ...and yes this story is very familiar... and soon I will be able to say why... (hint: this blog is censored)
From a secret undisclosed location, probably one with no extradition agreement with the US, the disgraced former superintendent of the Atlanta Public Schools system, Dr. Beverly Hall, has posted a message letting us know that everything that happened wasn't her fault and just the rogue acts of a few individuals. Umm, yeah like a 178 of 'em.
I am also disturbed by the repeated references to statements by teachers and other professionals declaring that they cheated or chose not to reveal cheating because of a perceived atmosphere of intimidation and retaliation. A number of years ago, we installed a hotline by which persons with knowledge of misconduct could report it and could do so anonymously if they wished. Anonymous emails and letters provided a further channel of communication. Even so, it now appears that our efforts and procedures were not enough.

US to engage with Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood

The Logo of the Muslim Brotherhood has at the top with two crossed swords
the Arabic verse from the Qur’an, Sura 8:60,“And make ready against them all you can of power, including steeds of war to terrorize the enemy of Allah and your enemy.”The direct meaning of this to Muslims is be prepared to terrorize non-Muslims. From Reuters: The United States has decided to resume formal contacts Muslim Brotherhood: We Are Not against Dialogue with the U.S. – But We Don't Yearn for It Either. U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton recently announced the U.S. administration's intention to officially renew dialogue with the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt. She said the move came as part of the administration's readiness to talk with any peaceful group wishing to participate in the Egyptian elections, and that this dialogue would be a continuation of limited and intermittent contact that had existed between the U.S. and the Muslim Brotherhood over the past six years (note: denied by the Muslim Brotherhood). with the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, a senior U.S. official said on Wednesday, in a step that reflects the Islamist group's growing political weight but that is almost certain to upset Israel and its U.S. backers. Iran announced last month it would shift its production of higher-grade uranium to an underground bunker and triple output capacity in a defiant move that further fueled Western unease about Tehran's intentions.

The UN nuclear chief said on Wednesday that he planned to meet with Iran's foreign minister next week and that he was "quite concerned" over plans by Tehran to triple uranium production capacity.

Yukiya Amano, director general of the UN International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), told Reuters in the Colombian capital, Bogota, that he planned to meet Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi next week, but had no firm details.

Can an interrogator rape the prisoner in order to obtain a confession?

Labels: » » » » » » » » » » » »
"When human rights came, they saw our jails, they left, and they
said: Jails are good. Civilized, in accordance with democratic, because
the logic is Islamic logic." -Ayatollah Khomeini (Qom, August 19, 1979) note this was found in a place that has quotes that contradict in many issues.
"Can an interrogator rape the prisoner in order to obtain a confession?" was the follow-up question posed to the Islamic cleric. Mesbah-Yazdi answered: "The necessary precaution is for the interrogator to perform a ritual washing first and say prayers while raping the prisoner. If the prisoner is female, it is permissible to rape through the vagina or anus. It is better not to have a witness present. If it is a male prisoner, then it's acceptable for someone else to watch while the rape is committed." This reply, and reports of the rape of teen male prisoners in Iranian jails, may have prompted the following question: "Is the rape of men and young boys considered sodomy?" Ayatollah Mesbah-Yazdi: "No, because it is not consensual. Of course, if the prisoner is aroused and enjoys the rape, then caution must be taken not to repeat the rape.""  Islam really is the Religion of Piece (of Ass)! One aspect of these permitted rapes troubled certain questioners: "What if the female prisoner gets pregnant? Is the child considered illegitimate?" Mesbah-Yazdi answered: "The child borne to any weakling [a denigrating term for women - ed.] who is against the Supreme Leader is considered illegitimate, be it a result of rape by her interrogator or through intercourse with her husband, according to the written word in the Koran. However, if the child is raised by the jailer, then the child is considered a legitimate Shi'a Muslim.""
"Asked if a confession obtained "by applying psychological, emotional and physical pressure" was "valid and considered credible according to Islam," Mesbah-Yazdi replied: "Getting a confession from any person who is against the Velayat-e Faqih ("Guardianship of the Islamic Jurists", or the regime of Iran's mullahs) is permissible under any condition." The ayatollah gave the identical answer when asked about confessions obtained through drugging the prisoner with opiates or addictive substances. It is better not to have a witness present. ...it is almost like the Iranians were Liberals. it's only marriage after all.

"In the Islamic Republic it is illegal to execute a young woman, regardless of her crime, if she is a virgin, he explained. Therefore a "wedding" ceremony is conducted the night before the execution: The young girl is forced to have sexual intercourse with a prison guard - essentially raped by her "husband." "I regret that, even though the marriages were legal," he said. Why the regret, if the marriages were "legal?" "Because," he went on, "I could tell that the girls were more afraid of their 'wedding' night than of the execution that awaited them in the morning. And they would always fight back, so we would have to put sleeping pills in their food. By morning the girls would have an empty expression; it seemed like they were ready or wanted to die. "I remember hearing them cry and scream after [the rape] was over," he said. "I will never forget how this one girl clawed at her own face and neck with her finger nails afterwards. She had deep scratches all over her." "

U.S. Voices Dismay Over Report That Iranian Christian Faces ‘Convert or Die’ Choice

Labels: » »
CNS via faith freedom org ...The United States government voiced concern Wednesday about the plight of an Iranian Christian pastor sentenced to death for apostasy. Reports say his appeal to a higher court resulted in a stark choice – disavow the Christian faith or die. “While Iran’s leaders hypocritically claim to promote tolerance, they continue to detain, imprison, harass, and abuse those who simply wish to worship the faith of their choosing,” State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said in a statement. “We join the international community in continuing to call on the Iranian government to respect the fundamental rights of all its citizens and uphold its international commitments to protect them.” Yosef (Youcef) Nadarkhani, a 32 year-old father and evangelical pastor who embraced Christianity at age 19, was arrested in October 2009, reportedly for objecting to the teaching of Islam to Christian children at Iranian schools. The indictment against him accused him of organizing evangelistic meetings, sharing his faith and inviting others to convert, running a house church and “denying Islamic values.” He was sentenced to death by hanging late last year, and he lodged an appeal with Iran’s Supreme Court. Late last month, the appeal was reported to have been granted, and his lawyer indicated as much to a news agency on July 3. But it quickly emerged that the ruling was not as straightforward as initially thought. According to the Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), an association established by Iranian human rights advocates in 2009, Nadarkhani and family members have been told that new charges may be brought against the accused man, or the case could be referred back to the original sentencing court, in northern Iran’s Gilan province.

...all it will take to push Assad out of power is a fake cable saying he was an Israeli proxy or had Jewish blood. When these people are not killing each other they are killing Jews. Thank goodness there are Democratic Republics and their essential element of checks and balances. These are values that made the West great and the Middle East totalitarian leftists. Without the checks and balances of a Democracy Israel and America would be just like Syria. One of the Republican checks are borders. Never forget that borders are not just to keep your murderers out, but are there to reinforce positive Democratic values in your neighbor. It is these internationalists without values of a Republic who end up murdering each other. Syrian totalitarians truly have no limits. Syrian and Arab so called "Democracy" is irredentist.
Kashoush’s song “Yalla Erhal Ya Bashar” (It’s time to leave, Bashar) gained recognition in recent weeks as the spirited anthem for peaceful demonstrators demanding an end to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s regime.
He reportedly joined crowds in Hama for massive street demonstrations that took place on Friday, where as many as 500,000 protesters gathered in protest, according to activists who spoke with AFP.
In the video below, Kashoush can be heard screaming the lyrics to a large group of people as they repeat the refrain with vibrant enthusiasm.
“To die but not be humiliated,” he sings in an eerily prophetic, but touching moment toward the end.
"Yalla Erhal Ya Bashar"  -- It's time to leave, Bashar!!
Bashar, you’re a germ, your statements don't make sense, your news is that of an owl, and its time you leave Bashar!!
It's time you leave Bashar!!
Bashar, Maher and Rami are thieves, they've stolen from my brothers and uncles, Bashar it's time you leave!!
Bashar, screw you, and screw any who salute you, it's time you leave Bashar!!
Bashar, stop going in circles, your blood in Hama "mahdour" (killing you as a form of retribution is acceptable), your crimes here have not been forgiven.
It's time you leave Bashar!!
Bashar, you're an agent, screw you and the Baath party. It's time you leave Bashar.
Bashar, you're a liar, screw you and your speech. Freedom is near. It's time you leave Bashar!!
Bashar, you're damned, you believe you have words over us, we will not forgo our martyr's blood. It's time you leave Bashar!!
It's written on our flag: Bashar is a traitor to our nation.
To die but not to be humiliated.
The people want to bring down the regime!!

Is this the anthem for the Syrian revolution? | By Robert Zeliger
Crowds have chanted it at rallies throughout the country these past few weeks, and thousands more have listened to it and shared it online. “Yalla Erhal Ya Bashar” (It’s time to leave, Bashar), seems to be the standout song of the Syrian uprising so far. With simple, catchy, sometimes profane lyrics, the song tells the Syrian leader to “screw” himself. “Freedom is near.”
The story of the song’s author — Ibrahim Kashoush — took a sad turn with news that he may have been killed in a protest last Friday in Hama

Emphasis Placed on Word Choice in Turkish-Israeli Negotiations... how about FUCK YOU?

Labels: » »
High-level negotiations to mend Turkey-Israel relations continue in New York ahead of the release of a United Nations report on the Gaza flotilla raid, as Turkish and Israeli officials search for the "right word with the right meaning" in a last-ditch effort to restore relations. Ankara has been firm in saying that it will not normalize ties with Tel Aviv unless Israel issues a formal apology and compensates the victims of last year's raid, which left nine people dead. Israel is known to prefer to use a word such as "regret" or "sorry" because it considers the dispatching of the ship by the Turkish Humanitarian Relief Foundation, or İHH, to be a provocative act.
Thank You / Sorry / Fuck You

Jewish Agency co-sponsors anti-Israel event with New Israel Fund... for the last three years

Labels: » » » » » » » » » »
Once again there are suspicious goings on at the JCC in Manhattan in cahoots with the radical Leftists, anti-Israel New Israel Fund. But this time the Jewish Agency is a co-sponsor, and the program has been going on for three years. A press release from JCC Watch.

DENIAL FALLS APART:

THE JEWISH AGENCY (MAKOM)
PARTNERED WITH AND SPONSORED
ANTI-ISRAEL EVENT WITH NEW ISRAEL FUND
FOR PAST THREE YEARS
New York - "Love, Hate and the Jewish State 4.0: Airing the Dirty Laundry," an event recently held at the JCC in Manhattan, a beneficiary of the UJA-Federation of New York, met with controversy when the Jewish Agency (MAKOM) denied any involvement with the event. Evidence, however, clearly shows otherwise.
Last week, JCCWatch.org charged that the Jewish Agency (MAKOM) had cosponsored the program along with the New Israel Fund, J Street, and other organizations. The Jewish Agency spokesman, Haviv Rettig Gur, speaking to the Israeli press, denied any such alliances. JCCWatch.org has discovered notices that clearly list the Jewish Agency (MAKOM) as a sponsor. These prove the sponsorship of not only this year's event, but also last year's and, based on evidence in articles still found online, at least as far back as 2009.
JCCWatch.org's founder, Richard Allen, calling "Love Hate and the Jewish State 4.0: Airing the Dirty Laundry" a "bash-Israel event," stated that it "trains the younger Jewish generation to hate the Jewish state. There is nothing at all positive being taught at these political bash-Israel sessions. In fact, the program might be better called 'Love to Hate the Jewish State 4.0.'" He went on to condemn the JCC in Manhattan, a beneficiary of the UJA-Federation of New York, for hosting yet another event put on by groups that fund and support the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel. "There are clearly elements within the American arm of the Jewish Agency (MAKOM) that have established links to these nefarious organizations."
"The Jewish Agency (MAKOM) and the JCC in Manhattan should not be utilized as a sponsor or a gathering place for those who work to delegitimize Israel," Allen continued.
"NGO-Monitor has proven that, for some time now, the New Israel Fund has directly funded groups that support the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement against Israel. J Street, the George Soros-funded group, has also partnered with efforts to further the insidious BDS movement.
"We once again call on the JCC in Manhattan's board of directors to establish firm and serious guidelines to prevent the JCC in Manhattan from becoming a hotbed of bash Israel activities. The Jewish Agency must also supervise their American arm, MAKOM, and establish better oversight to prevent sponsorships of anti-Israel activities."
