Fatah Admits It Does Not Recognize Israel

Labels: » »
Challah Hu Akbar on Twitter writes Fatah Official: Fatah & Hamas Share Stance on Not Recognizing Israel
In his post  Fatah Official: Fatah & Hamas Share Stance on Not Recognizing Israel , he quotes a Fatah official who is very emphatic on this point:
"No one in Fatah and Hamas movements recognizes Israel," Abdullah Abdullah told FNA, asked if the so-called Fatah- Israel peace talks would continue, given Hamas's opposition to the process.
This not only raises the question whether Fatah ever recognized Israel -- it raises the question whether the Palestinian Authority meets the 3 requirements Hamas is supposed to meet:
o Recognize Israel
o Eschew terrorism (Abbas has never stopped inciting hatred against Israel)
o Accept all agreements with Israel (joining with Hamas is not the optimal way to fulfill the first step of the Roadmap and disarm terrorists)
Of course, we can rely on the pro-Palestinian apologists to claim that Fatah actually recognizes Israel, supports the two-state solution and who knows what else.
It's time to judge these two by their actions and by the fact the their statements made to the Muslim media.

Ahmadinejad-Ayatollah conflict
turns into street-fighting

IRANIAN Surprise!
HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY

There are signs that the rift between Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Iranian spiritual leader Ayatollah Ali Khameni is widening.

Allies of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad were arrested this week for being "magicians" and invoking spirits, Iranian website reported on Wednesday.
Ahmadinejad's chief of staff Esfandiar Rahim Mashaei as well as other people close to the Iranian president were accused of invoking djinns.
One of the arrested men, Abbas Ghaffari, was called "a man with special skills in metaphysics and connections with the unknown worlds," Iranian news site Ayandeh reported.
Heh.
and the Magicians in the West thought kids parties and Bar Mitzvahs were a tough audience....

Jordan upset at Hamas/Fatah deal

no GAS for Jordan? this marriage sounds stinky
...Palestine Today reports that the Kingdom of Jordan is not happy about the Fatah/Hamas unity deal.
Jordan is mostly upset that they were not consulted beforehand .The kingdom has been harsh with Hamas elements in Jordan and the sudden about-face embarrassed the country.
As a result, Jordan refused to send any high-ranking officials to the Cairo ceremony and sent a note pf protest to Mahmoud Abbas.
Jordan is also upset at Egypt, both on not giving the kingdom a heads-up about the agreement as well as the interrupted supplies of natural gas due to saboteurs blowing up the gas lines towards Jordan and Israel in Egypt.
The newspaper describes the rift as a "crisis."

Philadelphia Inquirer Corrects Bogus MLK Jr. Quote

Labels: »
CAMERA staff contacted the Philadelphia Inquirer about a bogus quote attributed to Martin Luther King Jr., which appeared in a column in the newspaper and was widely disseminated online after the killing of Osama Bin Laden. The next day, the paper corrected. The error and correction follow:
Error(Philadelphia Inquirer, Op-Ed, Annette John-Hall, 5/3/11): As the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once said, "I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. . . . Hate cannot drive out hate. Only love can do that."
Correction (5/4/11): The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was incorrectly quoted in Annette John-Hall's column Tuesday. The sentence "I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy," was written on a Facebook posting by Jessica Dovey, an English teacher in Japan, after the death of Osama bin Laden was announced.

Dovey's post then attributed to King, in quotation marks, sentences from his 1963 book The Strength to Love: "Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." Others commenting online read Dovey's post incorrectly and attributed all four sentences to King. One of those was used as a reference.
CAMERA applauds the Inquirer for its timely clearing of the record and takes the opportunity to note, once again, the speed in which falsehoods make their way across the Internet, and from there, into mainstream news media outlets. via camera.org
I'm still going to celebrate the death of Osama Bin Ladin. Even MLK jr. made mistakes.
