Germany: The New Kristallnacht

Labels: » » » » » » » » » »
The German’s are as anti-Semitic as they were during WWII. Here is the sobering report.
In December 1972 the terrorist Ulrike Meinhof, who was under trial for the Rote Armee Fraktion’s activities, was questioned on the support issued for the massacre of Israeli athletes at the Munich Olympics. The questioning led her to say:
“Auschwitz means that six million Jews were murdered and carted on to the rubbish dumps of Europe for being that which was maintained of them — Money-Jews”.
Lady Meinhof was proud of her antisemitism. Unfortunately, many German leftists who have never committed acts of violence today take positions approaching hers. Echoing Karl Marx’s observation that “the evil in the world is the Jewishness in the world”, communism in East Germany sought to eradicate Judaism in general and after the Six Day War adopted an anti-Zionist stance.
Now we read that forty-seven percent of Germans are of the opinion that “Israel is exterminating the Palestinians”, according to a poll undertaken by the University of Bielefeld for the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, affiliated with the German Social Democratic Party.
In another 2004 poll conducted by the University of Bielefeld, 51% of German respondents agreed with the statement that:
“What the state of Israel does today to the Palestinians, is in principle not different from what the Nazis did in the Third Reich to the Jews”.
The German greedy-business with Teheran, the anti-Zionist ideology and the abuse of the Holocaust are part of a new anti-semitic wind that is on the rise in Germany. All the governments gave anti-Zionist and anti-Israel personalities prizes and speaking engagements to spread criticism of Israel.
In 2008 the German government was deeply involved in funding a conference where then Iranian deputy foreign minister Muhammad Larijani called for the destruction of the Jews.
In 2009 former German chancellor Gerhard Schroder met with President Ahmadinejad in Teheran. Schroder had meetings also with Foreign Minister Manuchehr Mottaki, who opened the “World Without Zionism” conference in Teheran and cast doubt on the “official version of the Holocaust”.
Last year, then-German president Horst Kohler issued the Federal Merit Cross, one of the country’s most important awards, to the lawyer Felicia Langer, who has equated Israel with Nazi Germany and the South African apartheid regime.
Several months ago, the city of Frankfurt invited Alfred Grosser to deliver a speech at commemoration of Kristallnacht. Grosser has compared his treatment by the Nazis in the early 1930s with Israel’s policies toward the Palestinians.
In today’s Germany, leftists who Nazify Israel and characterize it as the world’s most evil country have simply opened the door to proclaiming Jews to be evil people in general.
Norman Paech, the foreign policy spokesman of Germany’s third largest party, The Left, favors nuclear weapons for Iran and employs Nazi terminology against Israel.
At an academic conference in Gottingen, Professor Arnd Kruger said that the Israeli athletes butchered at the Olympic Games in Munich sacrificed themselves to prolong financial restitution from Germany and to preserve guilt among Germans due to the Holocaust.
These are only a few examples of this new radical hatred for the Jews.
Tel Aviv Municipality’s stand at Europe’s largest gay pride parade, set to take place in Berlin in June, won’t include any Israeli symbols or markers in an attempt to severe the connection between the German’s capital and the Jewish State.
The German public opinion contains once again elements that envision a world cleansed of the Jewish state. Germany’s State TV reported once about Itamar’s massacre saying: “Five dead after attack on settler family”. The neutral terminology paves the way to accept killing of the Jews. Last summer, in Hanover, a group of Muslims attacked an Israeli dance troupe, yelling “Juden raus” as they hurled stones at them. During the Israeli military operation against Hamas, “death to the Jews” was a common chant in the German protests.
In Germany today anti-Zionism — which is not mere criticism of Israeli policies, but the denial of the Jewish people’s right to live in their own state — links leftists, Islamists and rightists. Videos promoting “martyrdom” are shown daily in German houses, fueling anti-Semitism among Muslim youth in Germany. The programs are fed to Germany on Egyptian and Saudi Arabian satellites.
Despite the fact that Chancellor Angela Merkel’s government continues to support the Jewish State, German public opinion has a demonizing view of Israel, as does most of Europe. And Germany’s support for Israel, normally unwavering, is not automatic. It can change tomorrow.
Along with Italy, Germany is also the most important Iranian partner for import and export. The German powerhouse economy must be viewed as contributing to Iran’s nuclear revenue base and Ahmadinejad’s financial support for his regime’s satellite terror entities, Hizbullah and Hamas.
There are also terrible historical resonances. The Basf chemical industry is one of the thousands of German firms based in Teheran. Basf was formed out of the assets of IG Farben in 1952, the same company that produced the pesticide Zyklon B for the gas chambers.
A few days ago, an Israeli delegation from Judea and Samaria went to speak to Germany. The mayor of Cologne called them “settlers”, persona non grata, preventing them from entering the City Hall. The mayor denied that the Jews of Samaria ever existed at all.
Bar Ilan University Professor of Literature, Hillel Weiss, handled him a beautiful “lamentation” written by Rabbi Yoel Halevi, whose family and community were murdered during one of the first European pogroms. The lamentation tells of Jewish souls that “like incense rise” to the heavens.
The mirror of the German’s rotten conscience is the Museum of the Holocaust built by the postmodern architect Daniel Libeskind. The building is emblematic of what Alvin Rosenfeld, in his new magisterial forthcoming book, has called “The End of the Holocaust”. Old suitcases, dishes, photographs, glasses, violins and postcards left by the dead Jews serve to transmit the impression of a lost history. An empty space in the basement at the end of a large, dark corridor, neither heated nor air-conditioned, lit only by a shaft of natural light at the top, produces the spectacularization of the Holocaust.
Next time for these good Europeans it will be easier to “digest” the extinction of the Jews as it will be a Kristallnacht transposed to Israel.

Spanish Goverment's and media's double standard.

One of the most acclaimed TV programs in Spain is Tengo una pregunta para usted (I have a question for you), broadcasted by TVE's (Televisión Española, Spain's public TV) channel La 1. It gives citizens an opportunity to ask politicians about those issues they consider important or of a special interest. And on January 26, 2009, Spain's President of the Government and secretary general of the P.S.O.E. (Partido Socialista Obrero Español or Spanish Socialist Workers' Party), José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, was the politician invited to be questioned by ordinary citizens.
Rafael Lafuente Blanco, 29 years old, from the city of Granada, was one of those ordinary citizens. He chose to ask Zapatero about the Spanish arms trade, which makes Spain one of the main exporters of weapons globally, as well as about the hypocrisy behind Zapatero's cabinet, publicly committed to peace while veiledly committed to supply Israel and Colombia with weapons (please notice that, according to Lafuente, Israel and Colombia are countries which usually violate human rights).
Spanish President of the Government answered by explaining that the total amount of weapons sold to Israel by Spain equals just about 1,000,000 €, and that such a quantity means that Spain is not one of Israel's main suppliers of weapons. Then, Lafuente interrupts Zapatero's answer by asking: "Do you have any idea about how many Palestinian civilians have been killed by our weapons?" Zapatero answers by telling that Spanish war material sold to Israel was not used by the Jewish State to kill Palestinian civilians.
Another argument provided by the Spanish socialist leader is the fact that Spain is a pioneer country on the erradication of cluster bombs.
Well, on Friday, April 15, 2011, Público published an article, based on another one published by Europa Press (a Spanish news agency), regarding Libya. Both of the articles reveale that Muammar al-Gaddafi's forces used cluster projectiles against Libyan rebels in Misrata. Those cluster projectiles were made in Spain in 2007 (a year before Spain signed an international agreement which banned this kind of weapons), and later provided to Libya. This issue was also covered by The New York Times, and can also be read in El País, in English.
Público's and Europa Press' articles also deal with the fact that al-Gaddafi's forces used Grad rockets during their operations. The two articles provide explanations about these type of rockets regarding their use by al-Gaddafi's forces, including civilians killed and locations attacked by them, as well as their design and technical data.
Now please notice that:
i) The P.S.O.E. has been very critical towards Israel, especially during the 2006 Lebanon War and the 2008-2009 operation Cast Lead. Spain's socialist leader, who is the President of the Goverment since 2004, admitted to have provided Israel with weapons, and justified it by explaining that those weapons were not used to kill innocent civilians. But at the same time, the socialists, while governing the country, sold nothing less than cluster ammunitions to the Libyan regime.
ii) Público and Europa Press explained in detail how the Grad rockets have been used by al-Gaddafi's forces, how these rockets affected civilians and infrastructures in Misrata and how these rockets were designed. But at the same time, neither Público nor Europa Press depicted in such detail how Israel has been being attacked with al-Qassam and Grad rockets, as well as mortars, during the last months.

Some sober analysis of the "Arab Spring"

Labels:
From Michael Scott Doran in an IHT/NYT op-ed:
The turmoil in the Middle East is not unique. Half a century ago, a similar series of revolutions shook the ground beneath the Arab rulers. The immediate catalyst was the Suez crisis. After Gamal Abd al-Nasser, the charismatic young Egyptian ruler, nationalized the Suez Canal in July 1956, the British and French, in collusion with Israel, invaded Egypt to topple him. They failed; Nasser emerged triumphant.
...In the 1950s, the dominant ideology, pan-Arabism, focused on external threats: gaining independence from imperialism and confronting Israel. In contrast, today’s revolutionary wave is driven by domestic demands: for jobs and political representation. Yet the underlying ethos of both revolutionary waves is very similar. Then, as now, the people in the street believed that the existing order was dominated by corrupt cliques that exploited the power of the state to serve their own interests. In addition, then, as now, the revolutions tended to topple leaders aligned with Washington.
Although there is no personality like Nasser towering over the revolutionary events, there is one state taking a leaf from Nasser’s book: Iran. Under Nasser, Egypt opposed British and French imperialism, which it worked to associate in the public mind with Israel. Iran is taking a similar stand today against Britain’s “imperial successor,” the United States. And like Nasser, Iran has created an anti-status-quo coalition — the resistance bloc which includes Syria, Hezbollah and Hamas.
The bloc’s strategy seeks to turn the anarchy of the Middle East to the disadvantage of the United States. As the revolutionary wave expands political participation, the bloc will insinuate itself into the domestic politics of its neighbors. In countries divided along ethnic and sectarian lines, it will use terrorism and work closely with partners on the ground who are willing to make direct alliances, as we have already seen in Iraq and Lebanon. In more homogeneous countries, such as Egypt, the bloc will resort to more subtle and insidious means — for example, inciting violence against Israel through Hamas, in an effort to drive a wedge between Cairo and Washington.
Although the resistance bloc may not be as influential as Nasser was, it is nevertheless poised to turn the turmoil of the region to the detriment of American interests.

And from John Bolton in the WSJ:
Since the "Arab Spring" began four months ago in Tunisia, U.S. media have focused constantly and generally optimistically on the turmoil in the Middle East. Unfortunately, the rising threat of an Iranian Winter—nuclear or otherwise—is likely to outlast and overshadow any Arab Spring.
Iran's hegemonic ambitions are embodied in its rapidly progressing nuclear-weapons program and its continued subversion across the region. In a case that emphasizes the fragility of aspiring democracies, Iranian Winter has already descended upon Lebanon, where Iran's influence has helped replace a pro-Western government with a coalition dominated by Tehran's allies, including Hezbollah. Last week, departing Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri condemned Iran's "flagrant intervention" in his country.
In Syria, despite substantial opposition to the Assad dictatorship, regime change is highly unlikely. Iran will not easily allow its quasi-satellite to be pried from its grasp, and is reportedly helping the Assad regime quell this week's protests.
Then there's the Victoria, a ship containing tons of weaponry bound for Hamas that the Israeli navy seized last month. The episode recalls the Karine A, a weapons shipment from Iran to the Palestine Liberation Organization seized by Israel in 2002. Clearly Iran has a penchant for arming Sunni and Shiite terrorists alike.
...America's failure to stop Iran's nuclear ambitions—which is certainly how it would be perceived worldwide—would be a substantial blow to U.S. influence in general. Terrorists and their state sponsors would see Iran's unchallenged role as terrorism's leading state sponsor and central banker, and would wonder what they have to lose.
The Arab Spring may be fascinating, and may or may not endure. Sadly, Iran's hegemonic threat looks far more sustainable.

I touched on these themes in an earlier post that concentrated on how a resurgent Muslim brotherhood can only help Iran, despite the Shi'a/Sunni rift.
Read both articles (you need to find the Bolton article in Google in order to read the whole thing - the title is "Iranian Winter Could Chill the Arab Spring" so search for that.)

Mobile Phone Dealer Explains Qadhafi-Zionist Witchcraft

Labels: » »
An Australian reporter writes the following from Libya:
"Gaddafi's forces have had the upper hand in the desert battle that has raged for more than a month.

"Rebels say this is because of black magic. They invoke Satan. `These are magic papers,' said mobile phone dealer turned rebel Ashraf al Houmi, 25. The papers-185 pages of writing, symbols and numbers-were found near abandoned government tanks.

"`This is the Israeli Star of David and this is some of the Koran backwards. The Koran reversed is Satan,' explained Khaled el Faitouri, 27. "`We know they can do black magic with these drawings.'"

Now I wouldn't have bothered with this except for one thing: the amazing disconnect between being a mobile phone dealer and believing in this kind of thing. Possibly al-Houmi also repairs phones.

Westerners assume that technology and thinking precisely the way they do goes together. Not so. Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini pioneered in using tape cassettes for spreading Islamist revolution. Back in 1979 that was the equivalent of using social media. Revolutionary Islamists have used the Internet far more effectively than democratic reformers in the Middle East. Technology does not necessarily mean moderation or democracy.

Mubarack facing DEATH PENALTY

Labels:
(AFP) Egypt's ex-president Hosni Mubarak, detained pending a probe into corruption and state violence, may be jailed or hanged if found guilty of ordering the killing of demonstrators, state media said on Friday.

The state-owned newspaper Al-Ahram quoted the head of Cairo's appeals court, Zakaria Shalash, as saying that Mubarak may face execution after a trial he expected to last at least a year.

I doubt it!  He was their leader for 30 years.  There is no precedent to do this legally.  He literally was their CONSTITUTIONAL dictator.  They would have to execute all of Israel's enemies if they did this.
