South African doctor invents female condoms with teeth to fight rape

( nypost.com )A South African doctor is giving away female condoms -- featuring jagged "teeth" to catch rapists -- in cities hosting World Cup matches.
Dr. Sonnet Ehlers is the inventor of "Rape-aXe," which is inserted like a tampon and has hooks inside that latch on to the attacker's penis.
"If he tries to remove it, it will clasp even tighter," Ehlers told CNN. "It hurts; he cannot pee and walk when it's on."
Only a doctor can detach it, she said.
Ehlers said she was inspired by a rape victim who confided that she wished she had had "teeth" to defend herself. She is testing 30,000 of the devices, under medical supervision, on women in South African cities hosting World Cup events.
