Archbishop Cyril Bustros says Israel nullified by Christ
According to this report, the Melkite Greek Catholic Archbishop Cyril Bustros “then escalated the situation by declaring that the original promises made by God to the children of Israel ‘were nullified by Christ. There is no longer a chosen people.’”
Yigal Palmor said it was absurd that the Jewish state had been condemned since Israel is the only country in the region where Christians are actually thriving. According to statistics he provided, there were some 151,700 Christians in Israel last year, compared with 132,000 in 1999 and 107,000 two decades ago.”
Yet the bishops in their synod this week single out only Israel for particular criticism, and was relatively silent about the jihad doctrine, the Arab states’ support for it, and its cardinal role in sabotaging any peace settlement between Israel and the Palestinian Arabs. It is shameful, and indeed, makes me ashamed today to be a Melkite Greek Catholic.

no more money for Obama's Muslim friends if the GOP take Congress says Cantor

U.S. Rep. Eric Cantor, the Republican whip and the only Jewish Republican in the House of Representatives, told JTA that a GOP-led House would seek to defund nations that do not share U.S. interests, even if it meant rejecting the president's foreign operations budget.

So you have an investment here, as a taxpayer and as a citizen. If you’re a member of Congress, you also have a duty to uphold your oath to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.” And since that Constitution has a First Amendment protecting free speech, here’s a question to add to your list for the hearings on the 2012 appropriations budget for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, PBS and NPR:
Is it U.S. policy to fund organizations like CPB and PBS, whose employee trains Muslim-Brotherhood, Hamas-associated groups like CAIR to improve their “leadership” abilities to impose shariah defamation laws in America? Because that is what happened on October 9, 2010. And then less than two weeks later, PBS’s sister organization NPR fired Juan Williams after CAIR called for them to “address” Williams’ “irresponsible and inflammatory” comments with “professional consequences.” Yet another example of a federally-funded agency enforcing the OIC’s shariah defamation laws in the U.S., augmenting the OIC’s $325,000 payments already given to CAIR.

| National Public Radios's attack on Williams is a leftist attack designed to demonize, destroy, and silence a certified liberal for Islam |
This is not mainly a liberals versus conservatives battle, it is a struggle between the far left--sometimes allied but always soft regarding radical anti-American forces abroad--against both real liberals and non-extremist conservatives. If radical forces abroad are going to be countered and defeated, this battle is going to have to be fought, too. The Williams' case defines the issues precisely.

NPR fires Juan Williams for telling the truth
NPR Ends Williams’ Contract After Muslim Remarks
(h/t: Nevergiveup and gulfloafer)
by David Folkenflik
October 21, 2010 NPR News has terminated the contract of longtime news analyst Juan Williams after remarks he made on the Fox News Channel about Muslims.
Williams appeared Monday on The O’Reilly Factor, and host Bill O’Reilly asked him to comment on the idea that the U.S. is facing a dilemma with Muslims.
O’Reilly has been looking for support for his own remarks on a recent episode of ABC’s The View in which he directly blamed Muslims for the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. Co-hosts Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg walked off the set in the middle of his appearance.
Williams responded: “Look, Bill, I’m not a bigot. You know the kind of books I’ve written about the civil rights movement in this country. But when I get on the plane, I got to tell you, if I see people who are in Muslim garb and I think, you know, they are identifying themselves first and foremost as Muslims, I get worried. I get nervous.”
Williams also warned O’Reilly against blaming all Muslims for “extremists,” saying Christians shouldn’t be blamed for Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh.
NPR leaps to do the bidding of Hamas-linked CAIR, fires Juan Williams for “anti-Muslim” remarks
It turns out that NPR fired Williams after CAIR sent out a national press release in which CAIR National Executive Director Nihad Awad said this about Williams’ statements: “Such irresponsible and inflammatory comments would not be tolerated if they targeted any other racial, ethnic or religious minority, and they should not pass without action by NPR.”
And NPR hurried to appease this thuggish Hamas-linked group.
Everyone’s favorite stomach-stapled beekeeper, Ibrahim “Honest Ibe” Hooper of CAIR, was just on Fox, defending his takedown of Williams (while denying that CAIR demanded that he be fired), playing the victim card and hectoring Meghan Kelly, demanding to know if she agreed with Williams. (Kelly stood her ground magnificently.) In the course of things he said, “Everyone is accountable for what they say.”
Is that so, Ibe? So I guess you’re accountable for saying this, eh? “I wouldn’t want to create the impression that I wouldn’t like the government of the United States to be Islamic sometime in the future.”
Anyway, it’s bad enough that NPR would with such alacrity do the bidding of a group like CAIR, but it’s even worse that Williams’ rather commonplace remarks are being represented as some terrible “demonizing” of all Muslims. He said that he gets nervous on a plane when he sees people in Muslim garb. Even though the 9/11 hijackers and others did not wear Muslim garb, there are many other Islamic jihadists who have worn it, and all of the jihadists have explained and justified their actions by reference to Islamic texts and teachings. No Islamic sect or school of jurisprudence worldwide, meanwhile, has renounced the jihad against unbelievers or the imperative to impose Sharia upon them.
Are there Muslims who are not waging jihad against unbelievers? Of course. But the unwillingness of the Islamic community in the U.S. and Europe to back up its protestations of condemnation of terror with real action to root out the jihad ideology from its ranks makes it impossible to determine whether or not any given Muslim is an Islamic supremacist, or a jihadist.
Is this to “demonize” all Muslims? Of course not. But if Honest Ibe Hooper and his ilk are really not wanting Muslims to be demonized, instead of inviting that “demonization” so they can use it to claim victim status and wring more concessions out of a compliant politically correct media establishment, they could have reacted to Juan Williams’ by recognizing that if anyone gets nervous when seeing people in Muslim garb, it is the fault of the Muslims who have committed acts of violence in the name of Islam. And they could begin honest, genuine efforts to root out the jihad doctrine and Islamic supremacism from their communities.
But they don’t. Now, why is that?
“NPR Fires Analyst Over Comments on Muslims,” by Brian Stelter for the New York Times, October 20 (thanks to all who sent this in):
NPR has terminated its contract with Juan Williams, one of its senior news analysts, after he made comments about Muslims on the Fox News Channel….The move came after Mr. Williams, who is also a Fox News political analyst, appeared on the “The O’Reilly Factor” on Monday. On the show, the host, Bill O’Reilly, asked him to respond to the notion that the United States was facing a “Muslim dilemma.” Mr. O’Reilly said, “The cold truth is that in the world today jihad, aided and abetted by some Muslim nations, is the biggest threat on the planet.”
Mr. Williams said he concurred with Mr. O’Reilly.
He continued: “I mean, look, Bill, I’m not a bigot. You know the kind of books I’ve written about the civil rights movement in this country. But when I get on the plane, I got to tell you, if I see people who are in Muslim garb and I think, you know, they are identifying themselves first and foremost as Muslims, I get worried. I get nervous.”
Mr. Williams also made reference to the Pakistani immigrant who pleaded guilty this month to trying to plant a car bomb in Times Square. “He said the war with Muslims, America’s war is just beginning, first drop of blood. I don’t think there’s any way to get away from these facts,” Mr. Williams said.
NPR said in its statement that the remarks “were inconsistent with our editorial standards and practices, and undermined his credibility as a news analyst with NPR.”…
via sheikyermami.com
Yahoo News has more:
…Williams often appears on Fox as the liberal counterpart to one of the network’s conservative hosts or guests. But some NPR listeners — an audience certainly more left-leaning than Fox’s conservative one — don’t see Williams as an advocate for progressive politics when he appears on the cable news network.Yahoo News points out that NPR is being pressured by CAIR:
Last year, NPR ombudsman Alicia Shepard wrote that Williams had become a “lightning rod” among NPR’s staff and noted many complaints from listeners after an appearance on O’Reilly’s show.
Williams had described First Lady Michelle Obama as having a “Stokely Carmichael in a designer dress thing going,” a reference to the militant African-American activist. After those comments, NPR executives asked that NPR’s logo be removed when he appears on Fox News.
It can be expected that Fox hosts, especially O’Reilly, will have something to say about NPR’s decision.
[...]
Bernie Goldberg, a Fox News contributor and author of several books on what he describes as liberal media bias, offered his take Thursday morning in an email to The Upshot.
“So Juan Williams is fired for saying something the liberals at NPR find controversial?” Goldberg said. “One more piece of evidence that liberals have forgotten how to be liberal.”
Goldberg continued: “These are the kind of people who brag about how open-minded they are — as long as you agree with them. And here’s the dirty little secret: lots and lots of liberals feel the same way Juan does when they get on an airplane. And a lot of those liberals work at NPR. Juan’s ‘crime’ was saying it out loud.”
Weekly Standard Editor and Fox contributor Bill Kristol also had some choice words for NPR, which he dubbed “National Politically-correct Radio.” Kristol concluded a post about the firing by saying: “NPR — unfair, unbalanced … and afraid.”…
(h/t mjazz for pointing this out)
…The Council for American-Islamic Relations sent out a press release Wednesday afternoon calling on NPR to address the matter. Nihad Awad, the organization’s national executive director, called the comments “irresponsible and inflammatory” and said they “should not pass without action by NPR.”
They certainly didn’t. NPR took action Wednesday night and put out a statement regarding the severing of Williams’ contract: “His remarks on ‘The O’Reilly Factor’ this past Monday were inconsistent with our editorial standards and practices, and undermined his credibility as a news analyst with NPR.”…
Read it all, and view Juan Williams’ remarks. Why does NPR hate Black People?
By doriangrey
…Now truth be told, as a conservative I find it distasteful to stand up for Juan Williams, because make no mistake about it, Juan is a liberal. However that said, as a conservative I find injustice even more disgusting than standing up for a liberal who has been unfairly treated and maligned. I usually disagree with Juan, however unlike most liberals I do find Juan to be an honest man with integrity, something quite rare in liberals. It’s long past time to stop all taxpayer funding for the grotesquely biased NPR. If American members of the leftist/jihadist contingent still want to watch and listen, let them pay for it themselves through the infamous NPR subscription drives, a/k/a “beg-a-thons.” The rest of us should not be taxed for what amounts to enemy propaganda.
To see one of the few genuinely honest intelligent and forthright liberals in America treated with such disrespect is more than I can bare and sit quietly by and watch. I have no choice but to rise in Juan’s defense and denounce in the harshest terms possible the politically correct demagoguery which led National Propaganda Radio to dismiss him. The management at NPR should be fired immediately and NPR defuned by congress and forced to become a regular for profit company having to defend it’s agenda in the commercial arena of idea’s alongside the conservative talk radio and radio news outlets.
The time has come for NPR to sink or swim in accordance to their merits in the market place of ideas.
Read it all.
Oh, and by the way, the main telephone number for NPR is (202) 513-2000 and their fax number is (202) 513-3329. A contact form is here.

Pope blames Christian exodus of the Middle East on Jews
![]() |
| The Pope is making efforts to address the fortunes of Christians in the Muslim world |
via bbc.co.uk
"The Pope was never in the Hitler Youth, never, never, never,'' Father
Federico Lombardi, chief spokesman for the Pope, told a press conference in
Jerusalem.
Father Lombardi tried to draw a distinction between pro-Nazi Germans who
volunteered for the Hitler Youth and young men, like the pontiff, who were
forced to join the anti-aircraft unit but who, he claimed, were not
necessarily in the Hitler Youth.
But Father Lombardi’s comments contradicted statements the Pope himself has
made.
In the 1996 book “Salt of the Earth”, the Pope told Peter Seewald, a German
journalist: “At first we weren’t, but when the compulsory Hitler Youth was
introduced in 1941, my brother was obliged to join. I was still too young,
but later, as a seminarian, I was registered in the HY. As soon as I was out
of the seminary I never went back.”
Late yesterday Father Lombardi withdrew his earlier comments, saying that
Benedict had, indeed, been forced to join the Hitler Youth.

Pollard Swap for Jew Freeze?
Pollard should be freed because the man is a hero. end of story. I could care less about what Obama's hateful little heart considers pragmatic to enable his Jew free visions.
The center-piece of this video is a speech by Dr. Hagai Ben-Artzi, brother-in-law of Prime Minister Netanyahu. Hagai speaks with passion about Jonathan Pollard and his devotion to the Land and People of Israel and of his selflessness and principled unwillingness to be freed in any deal that might put Jewish lives at stake by the release of murderers and terrorist or the uprooting of Jews from their homes. Ben-Artzi's words are heart-rending as he calls upon his brother-in-law PM Netanyahu not to abandon a soldier in the field, to finish the job and bring Pollard home now!
Worthy of Note: Video includes interesting foootage of the recent 9000-Day
Vigil for Jonathan Pollard that was recently held in a 3 day marathon at
Gesher HaMeitarim in Jerusalem.

Is A Pollard-Settlement Freeze Swap Still On The Table? If Not--Why Not?the Whitehouse is so cruel. the guy was trying to get information on Saddam's chemical capabilities that was promised to Israel and we were still in bed with the Arabs. Some things dont change. They will say the Jews have so much influence. Obviously not. Obama sabotages Jews for fun. He doesn't give a damn about peace
That's the impression you get from an LA Times editorial, which opposes a Pollard-Settlement Freeze swap:
There may be good reasons for granting clemency to Jonathan Pollard, the former Navy intelligence analyst who was sentenced to life in prison in 1987 for providing U.S. military documents to Israel. But Pollard's usefulness as a diplomatic bargaining chip isn't one of them.
WikiLeaks' Julian Assange walks out of CNN interview when asked about rape charges
WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange overshadowed his whistleblower website once again this week, storming out of an interview when the questioning turned personal. The controversial Australian ignited another worldwide controversy by posting a massive and unprecedented leak of 391,832 military files from the Iraq war on his website Friday, revealing previously unknown figures on civilian casualties and atrocities committed by the Iraqi military.
But he quickly became a headline himself when he turned combative and petulant in an interview with CNN’s Atika Shubert -- walking out when asked about rape allegations that still loom against him in Sweden.
Assange, 39, is the subject of an ongoing investigation into molestation and rape charges involving two Swedish women. He is reportedly accused of refusing to wear a condom during sex and being tested for STDs.
Prosecutors re-opened the case in September, shortly after WikiLeaks posted a cache of 76,000 secret documents from the war in Afghanistan.
At the time, Assange called the charges "a smear campaign" and maintained his innocence.
Shubert confronted the WikiLeaks chief about criticism that his personal scandals as well as reports of internal disputes within the organization harmed the website’s mission, and asked how he feels when people say "the story around you is eclipsing the work of WikiLeaks."
"It is my role to be the lightning rod to attract the attacks against the organization for our work," he said. "Anyone involved in our sort of activity can expect to be attacked across the full spectrum...we have to move on and do the work that we are committed to do."
Yet Assange repeatedly dodged the issue of the charges against him during the televised interview, threatening to walk out "if you're going to contaminate this extremely serious interview with questions about my personal life."
"But it does affect WikiLeaks," Shubert countered.
Assange then abruptly cut short the interview, removing his microphone and storming out of the room.
A stunned Shubert said simply, "I have to ask that question."
WikiLeaks has positioned itself as a modern-day version of the Pentagon Papers, leaking military documents to expose the truths of the Iraq and Afghan wars.
The site’s work seems to have taken a toll on its founder, who reportedly now goes to paranoid lengths to avoid being followed, such as checking into hotels under assumed names, dying his hair, and only using cash so his movements can not be traced through credit cards.
"When it comes to the point where you occasionally look forward to being in prison on the basis that you might be able to spend a day reading a book,” Assange told the New York Times, "the realization dawns that perhaps the situation has become a little more stressful than you would like."

Randy Quaid, wife seek asylum in Canada
Actor Randy Quaid told Canada's immigration board Friday that he and his wife are seeking asylum from "the murderers of Hollywood" and will therefore apply for refugee status in Canada, after they were arrested on U.S. warrants related to vandalism charges. The pair were arrested on Thursday in a shopping area of an affluent Vancouver neighborhood and were jailed on outstanding U.S. warrants. The Quaids are wanted in Santa Barbara, where they missed a court hearing Monday on felony vandalism charges. The Quaids were ordered released from custody Friday, but must each post $9,750 bail and fulfill their promise to appear for their next hearing Thursday. Santa Barbara County Senior Deputy District Attorney Lee Carter said Friday that Mr. Quaid and his wife Evi's bail increased to $500,000 apiece. Their attorney, Robert Sanger, said he hoped the situation could be resolved but declined comment citing the pending case. The couple told the immigration adjudicator they are being persecuted in the United States. Evi Quaid begged a Canadian immigration adjudicator not to force them to return, saying on Friday that friends, such as actors David Carradine and Heath Ledger, have been "murdered" under mysterious circumstances and she worried something would happen to her husband next. "We feel our lives are in danger," she said. "Randy has known eight close friends murdered in odd, strange manners ... We feel that we're next." via post-gazette.com
