California NOW Chief: Calling Whitman a 'Whore' is Accurate

Labels: » »
The president of the National Organization for Women may have said it's wrong for anyone to call a woman a "whore," but the head of the California NOW affiliate says Republican gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman is one.
via foxnews.com
October 13, 2010
Last night at the California gubernatorial debate, Jerry Brown apologized for a member of his campaign staff suggesting Meg Whitman, his opponent in the race, be called a "whore." This overdue apology was a necessary step; however, it was accompanied by an assertion that these sorts of comments are part and parcel of what happens inside political campaigns. If so, that needs to change.
While our California chapter's Political Action Committee voted to endorse Brown on the basis of his support for women's rights, the National Organization for Women clearly and unequivocally condemns calling Meg Whitman, or any woman, a whore. This term is hate speech that carries with it negative connotations associated with women, and it has no place in contemporary society.
NOW calls on Brown, from this point forward, to fire any member of his staff who uses this word or any hate speech against women.
###
Update: NOW clarified this statement with the addition of "from this point forward" to the final paragraph.

Boomerang kids: 85% of college grads move home

By Jessica Dickler, staff writer
October 14, 2010
NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) — Getting a degree used to be a stepping stone to limitless career opportunities. Now it’s more of a hiatus from living under your parents’ roof.
Stubbornly high unemployment — nearly 15% for those ages 20-24 — has made finding a job nearly impossible. And without a job, there’s nowhere for these young adults to go but back to their old bedrooms, curfews and chore charts. Meet the boomerangers.
"This recession has hit young adults particularly hard," according to Rich Morin, senior editor at the Pew Research Center in DC.
So hard that a whopping 85% of college seniors planned to move back home with their parents after graduation last May, according to a poll by Twentysomething Inc., a marketing and research firm based in Philadelphia. That rate has steadily risen from 67% in 2006.
"It’s peaking at levels we have not seen before," said David Morrison, managing director and founder of Twentysomething.
Mallory Jaroski, 22 graduated from Penn State University in May but has been living at home with her mother while looking for a job in press relations. "It’s not bad living with my mom, but I feel like a little kid. I have a little bed, a little room," she says
They voted for Mr. Obama.
Now they have to lie in it.

Saudi Arabia establishes 119km of barriers along Yemeni border
[15/أكتوبر/2010]
RIYADH, Oct. 15 (Saba)- Saudi Arabia has established 119km of security barriers along Yemeni border to prevent smuggling and infiltration from Yemen, a senior Saudi military official said.
Deputy commander of the Saudi border guards on the Saudi-Yemeni border Abdul-Aziz al-Sabhi said the security barrier was erected in stages, with early results revealing that the rates of smuggling and infiltration have been significantly reduced.
The Saudi-Yemeni border, at around 1,500km in length, has been used as a gateway for smuggling and for people to illegally enter Saudi Arabia.
Construction of the border barrier began in 2003 but stopped in 2004 following complaints by Yemen, which said it violated an early border treaty.
The security barrier is a network of sandbags and pipelines 3m high and filled with concrete.
It is monitored by electronic surveillance equipment.

ADL Names so called Top Ten Anti-Israel Groups in America

BTW the reason I had to customize this image myself is because if you do a Google Search for "Anti-Zionism" the most hateful biased, prejudiced images pop up.  Google censors this blog and promotes this trash.  We wonder how the Holocaust happened?  Look no further then the media... like say the NYTimes.  Todays equivalent is Google and they are going out of their way to attack Jews.

Here's the list:
  • Act Now to Stop War and End Racism (ANSWER)
  • Al-Awda
  • Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR)
  • Friends of Sabeel-North America (FOSNA)
  • If Americans Knew (IAK)
  • International Solidarity Movement (ISM)
  • Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP)
  • Muslim American Society (MAS)
  • Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP)
  • US Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation (USCEIO)
Each has its own report at the ADL site. Some familiar names didn't make the cut, for various reasons:
they should add facebook and Google to their list

...There are many anti-Israel groups that did not make the above list. Many of these groups satisfy some but not all of the criteria. For example, there are groups that advance overt anti-Israel positions and organize events in their regions but do not have a national presence, such as Adalah-NY, Neturei Karta and the Middle East Children's Alliance. Similarly, while many individual chapters of the Muslim Student Association (a national organization founded by members of the Muslim Brotherhood) organize anti-Israel events, some of its chapters, as well as the national organization itself, are not primarily driven by an anti-Israel agenda. Other groups, like the Council for the National Interest (CNI), the International Jewish Anti-Zionist Network and the US Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel, have important roles in creating policy and setting anti-Israel agendas but do not organize a significant number of events. Still others have anti-Israel views but also focus on many other issues, such as the American Friends Service Committee, CODEPINK, and the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee.

Facebook charging employees $2,500 for selling private stock

Labels:
Although Facebook isn't yet public, employees and other insiders have been able to cash out some of their equity through private stock-sale deals. But the company is trying to dump cold water on that rapidly heating up market: Facebook recently began charging employees a $2,500 fee if they sell their private stock.
Buyers are typically venture capital funds or wealthy individuals, and more than 80% of the sellers are former employees, according to SecondMarket's report on its third-quarter sales data. The company says it has processed more than $150 million in Facebook stock sales since it launched in April 2009.
But losing employee shares to outsiders can be a nightmare for startup companies. Transferring private stock often comes with hefty legal and administrative costs, and it can be tough for management to maintain control when a bunch of outsiders are shareholders.
And when the number of shareholders grows too large, the government gets involved. The Securities and Exchange Commission generally requires companies with more than 500 shareholders to disclose financial details that many companies would rather keep private until they file for an IPO. (That rule prodded Google (GOOG, Fortune 500), which gave stock options to many employees, into filing for its IPO in 2004.)
Facebook has so far stayed off the SEC's radar thanks to an unusual exemption the agency granted in 2008. Instead of options, Facebook gave many of its employees restricted shares that would not convert to common stock until the company went public or was bought. Since there was no market though which employees could trade restricted shares, Facebook said it shouldn't be required to disclose financial information. The SEC agreed.
But SecondMarket and SharesPost exploded onto the private-company stock scene in 2009. The SEC did not respond to a request for comment on those exchanges.
Many of Facebook's 1,700 employees hold ownership stakes in the company. Earlier this month, Facebook announced a 5-for-1 stock split, marking the third split in the company's history.

We give women the cultural right to lie to us and we condemn men when they do the same. I'm not saying that men don't lie (of course they do)... but we encourage and laugh when women do it in the name of the great so called equalizer called feminism and then encourage them into positions of power. The great victim society of the left groomed this for decades.

National referendum - the cement that binds

Dr. Aaron Lerner
IMRA Weekly Commentary
14 October '10
Many in the Israeli Left oppose legislation that would require holding a national referendum to approve future Palestinian-Israeli agreements on the grounds that such agreements couldn't pass if put to a national vote.
Read that again.
Yes.
That's right.
They don't think that the Israeli public, if provided the opportunity to vote directly on an agreement, would support it.
They then argue, along with a small minority from the Right, that Israel is a parliamentary democracy and that the citizens thus should only express their positions via their elected representatives rather via plebiscites.
Now if we were back in 1948 and the country had just been founded then one might accept this line of thinking.
But its 2010 now and the fact of the matter is that we have had a series of major agreements negotiated by prime ministers who accepted terms that they very clearly opposed when they ran for office. And the Knesset majorities that endorsed these agreements relied on parties that were elected on the basis of election platforms that contradicted these deals.
Was that democratic?

While Islamists Work to Censor Adam Lambert, Gutless GLAAD Protests Movie Trailer

Labels: » » »
islamic-gay-prideThis Thursday, October 14, 2010, glam rocker Adam Lambert has a concert scheduled in Malaysia. However, there’s a catch: Homosexuality is a crime in Malaysia, where Muslims are in an uproar because Lambert is a poster-child for gay flamboyance. (The penalty for engaging in homosexual acts in Malaysia can be as much as twenty years in prison.)
Thus, although Malaysian authorities have given Lambert the green light for his coming performance, “Malaysia’s Islamist opposition party…[has] demanded that” it be canceled. And where is the outcry over this? In particular, where is the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) when it appears homosexuals traveling to Malaysia need them most?
They are silent, and because of this they appear to be cowering to a group of anti-gay protestors who live in a country that many Americans couldn’t even find on a map.
And while GLAAD turns a blind eye to criticisms of Lambert that would certainly be labeled “homophobic” if they emanated from a Baptist Church in Alabama or a Presbyterian Church in Arkansas, they are giddy as school kids on the Friday before Spring Break when it comes to attacking Vince Vaughn for saying “electric cars are gay” in the upcoming Universal film, “The Dilemma.”
and who gets hurt? Gay people.

Obama approves $900 MILLION to Palestine in the latest Mid-East Peace talks

Labels: » » »

RWBNews:  Obama signed a waiver to send more money to the Palestinian Authority with less disclosure required by the O Administration, as we posted here.  It has now come to light that the PA is going to be getting$900 MILLION of our tax dollars under the guise of mid-east peace.  Why was the waiver necessary, what does the O Administration NOT want us to know and WHY is the PA getting $900 million dollars?
Israeli media watchdog Itamar Marcus makes a career of following the Palestinian press. His website provides timely and accurate translations of the Arabic language broadcasts and publications that are watched and read by the Palestinian public on the West Bank of the Jordan River and in the Gaza Strip.
It’s well worth our while as Americans to pay more attention to what the so-called Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) is doing. That’s because we American taxpayers are footing the bill for much of it. President Obama and Secrtary Hillary Clinton have promised $900 million in U.S. funds to the PLO, our supposed “peace partners” in the latest round of Mideast peace talks.
One story is typical of the PLO approach to peace. Late last year, a 45-year old rabbi, father of seven, was ambushed in his car by four members of the Palestinian Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade. Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) located three of the killers and killed them.
Here’s what our peace partner, the PLO’s Mahmoud Abbas, did then:

PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas declared the killers “Shahids” (holy Martyrs) and sent his personal emissary to visit the families:
“Secretary General of the President’s Office, Tayeb Abd Al-Rahim, conveyed condolences on behalf of President Mahmoud Abbas to the residents of Nablus and to the families of the three Shahids [Martyrs] for the Martyrdom of their sons, who were assassinated by Israeli occupation forces yesterday morning. He conveyed to the fighting families letters of condolences from the President [Abbas] and updated them as to [Abbas's] decision to declare them as Shahids [Martyrs] of the Palestinian revolution…”
Tayeb Abd Al-Rahim: “Without doubt, what the [Israeli] occupation authorities have carried out is a wild and barbaric act and a deliberate, malicious assassination in cold blood.”

Our tax dollars at work. Mahmoud Abbas and Tayeb Abd Al-Rahim are part of the notoriously corrupt organization that runs the West Bank. It’s called the Palestinian Authority, but it remains to be seen how much authority it actually has. Abbas has declined to hold scheduled elections, fearing that Hamas, which won overwhelmingly in Gaza, would win on the West Bank, too. So, with U.S. financial and diplomatic support, Abbas clings to power.
He’s a regular and honored visitor to the Obama White House. This is a man whose entire career was made as faithful lieutenant to Yasser Arafat. Arafat won the Nobel Peace Prize for his famed “handshake” with Israel’s Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin in a deal brokered by then-President Bill Clinton. Arafat is the one who invented airline hijacking for terror purposes. Soon after shaking hands with Rabin, Arafat was up to his old tricks.
He instigated yet another of his intifadas—uprisings—sparked by Arab teenagers throwing stones, with deadly accuracy, at Israeli soldiers. If the Arab boys are shot and killed by the IDF soldiers defending themselves—so much the better. Abbas has more “martyrs” to celebrate and the PLO gets some favorable TV coverage in the credulous Western media.
The United States has been pursuing a phantom for more than twenty years. We have bought into the fiction that the Arafat-Abbas clique—this so-called Palestinian Authority– is something other than what it is: a murderous and corrupt gang of thugs.
The errors in U.S. foreign policy in this region are bi-partisan. It was the first Bush administration that sought to extend an olive branch and an open hand of friendship to the Arafat-Abbas gang in 1989. We were told then that if the PLO would just give up its campaign of terrorism against the Israelis, acknowledge the right of Israel to exist, then the United States would help the impoverished Palestinian people with development funds and sponsor their path to statehood.
via theamericandogmag.com
The PLO never gave up its plans. To this day, the destruction of Israel remains a goal of the PLO. The PLO “leaders” can readily tell us they renounce terrorism because they don’t consider the murder of Israeli citizens—in pizza parlors, in schools, in hospitals—to be terrorism. They call it resistance and they call those who are killed on these strikes shahids—martyrs.
It’s time for Americans to take a cold look at what twenty years of takkiya—the Arabic word for deception—have gotten us. President Reagan left office in 1989. He spoke about our dealings with the then-Soviet Union. He hoped for peace, and he said, “Trust, but verify.” He said one more thing we need to apply to our role in the Mideast: “Don’t be afraid to see what you see.”
I look at the latest round of bogus peace talks and I see a discredited PLO boss sitting down to make promises to the Israelis he has no intention of keeping. If he actually did keep those promises, he would be murdered by his own cutthroat followers.
I see American honor stained, American power diminished, and American money wasted.
What do you see?

Cartoon Not Depicting Muhammad Yanked From The Washington Post

Labels:
“The Washington Post” took the publishing world’s fear of Muslim extremism one step further on Sunday by pulling a cartoon about Muhammed in which he does not appear.

By passing up on the rare opportunity for to print a non-abstract, actually funny cartoon, The Washington Post not only enraged bloggers worldwide, it also staunched the only artistic medium that still inspires my generation — comedy.
Wiley Miller’s single panel cartoon imitates the classic children’s book “Where’s Waldo?” by depicting a grassy park teaming with activity—animals frolic, children buy ice cream, adults stroll and sunbathe—and the caption reads: “Where’s Muhammad?”
It’s funny, right?
First, “The Post’s” fears are legitimate. Under FBI direction, Seattle-based cartoonist Molly Norris changed her name and went into hiding this summer after publicly encouraging a worldwide “Everyone Draw Muhammad Day,” in protest after an episode of “South Park” depicting Muhammed was censored last year. “South Park” creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have received death threats.
Muslim extremists are terrifying, but Miller is still disgusted with his newspaper. The award-winning cartoonist said that it was meant to satirize “the insanity of an entire group of people rioting and putting out a hit list over cartoons.” His anger is justified, but I think he’s missing something by belittling the social role of funny cartoons to make his point.
Despite pissing off Joan Biaz by emphatically denying any political motives, Bob Dylan famously wrote songs that personalized the 60s youth experience. In doing so, he, along with a few other bands and a lot of unprotected sex, helped hippies process their anger.
My generation is deeply confused and angry about Islamic extremism as well as the West’s reaction to it. I know I personally can’t decide if Burqas are oppressive or not and if banning them is Constitutional. I think Terry Jones’s Quran-burning plan was despicable, and that Islomophobia is not only real but extremely harmful. But I’m also scared shitless of flying, and I feel sick when I think about Sakineh Muhammad Ashtiani being sentenced to death by stoning for allegedly committing adultery.
These aren’t feelings that I talk about over beers with my friends—we’d rather discuss whether or not “The Social Network’s” portrayal of Mark Zuckerberg was “scathing.” I also don’t go to concerts where musicians are singing songs about the war in Afgahnistan, and if my favorite bands started doing that unironically, I’d probably roll my eyes so far back into my head I’d go blind. Whatever the reason, music doesn’t cut it for my generation.
My feelings, mostly fears, about radical Islam are something that I almost exclusively laugh about while watching “The Colbert Report” every evening. And I think that’s what most of my generation is doing too. Stephen Colbert is our Generation’s Bob Dylan. Same role, different medium.
In protecting themselves and their cartoonist, “The Washington Post” did something worse than cower in fear of overly-sensitive Muslim terrorists. It deprived its younger readers of a laugh.

We've discussed before how rich Saudis take vacations in other countries, notably Egypt, and "marry" women for the summer.
The Arab News adds more detail to this disgusting practice - and it is not only the Saudis who are guilty:
About 900 children born to Egyptian women and Saudi men in what is commonly known as “misfar” or “tourist” marriages are abandoned by their fathers, said an Egyptian activist at a recent forum on human trafficking.
Speaking at the conference in Egypt, Aiman Abu Akeel, chairman of the board of trustees of the Maat Foundation for Peace and Development, said that the majority of men who visit Egypt looking for misfar marriages tend to be Saudi, followed by Iraqis, and that the women they marry are predominantly younger than them.
“Misfar” marriage refers to a union contracted so that a woman may join her “husband” for the period of time he travels in a foreign country.
The women in such unions are divorced after a short time ranging from a week to a month, the Egyptian newspaper Al-Yaum Al-Sabi reported.
Speaking at the same forum, Azza Al-Jazaar, the general organizer of the Anti-Trafficking of Egyptian Girls program, said that these young women do not know they are being treated like commodities.
Their fathers receive up to 4,000 Egyptian pounds from these men for trading off their girls, she said, adding that most of these girls are below 16 years of age. [That's about $700 - EoZ]
Statistics show that some SR100 million are spent on misfar marriages, which last for not more than a month, with 90 percent of Saudi fathers leaving behind children born out of such relationships.
However, Najeeb Al-Zamil, founder of the Back to the Roots Foundation, a nongovernmental organization that helps Saudi children abroad, said that although there are many such children in Arab countries, their suffering is less than that experienced by children born in non-Arab countries.
He added that these men abandon their families and children, as they fear what their relatives in the Kingdom will think.

Shamir's son to Netanyahu: Just say no

Labels: » » »
Yair Shamir, the Chairman of Israel Aircraft Industries, and the son of former Prime Minister Yitzchak Shamir, who stood up to George H. W. Bush in 1988-92, has some advice for Prime Minister Netanyahu: 'Just say no.'
It is no secret that during President George Bush, Sr. there were sharp disagreements between my father, then prime minister Yitzchak Shamir. But Shamir succeeded – due to the respect he earned by his principle-driven defiance and by leveraging the clout of the U.S. Congress. Thus, irrespective of President Bush's objection, he received $650 million in special assistance, $700 million worth of military systems, a considerable expansion of American ammunition prepositioned in Israel, enhancement of Israel-U.S. counter-terrorism cooperation, upgrading the Haifa port for the use of 6th Fleet (which yielded $1 million daily revenues) and a breakthrough access by Israel’s defense industries to Pentagon repair, maintenance and refurbishing bids in Europe, etc. – in addition to annual foreign aid.
These achievements were acquired despite the fierce opposition by Bush to Shamir’s policies, but because of Shamir’s steadfastness and recognition of the stature of the US Legislature.
Nothing illustrates this better than Defense Minister Ehud Barak’s words in his dedication to the book "Yitzchak Shamir: Firm as A Rock": "During President George Bush's (the father) term in office, while I was serving as the IDF's Chief-of-Staff, I was once summoned to the Prime Minister's Office to meet with then US Secretary of State James Baker who had been demanding that Israel make far-reaching concessions. Upon the request of Shamir, I briefed our prominent guest with the range of military threats that is facing Israel. Baker did not retract his demands. Instead, carrying the weight of the only superpower leading the free world today, he insisted that Israel concede. Shamir's face became very tense and alert, it looked like a volcano about to explode. He banged on the table and told the secretary of state in a very blunt and undiplomatic manner, in a very sharp but self-controlled tone: 'Mr. Secretary, you can demand what you choose to demand but this is our country and we will not agree to do anything that will harm its interests and future even if demanded by our best friend."
My father's refusal to budge from his principles did not lead to a round of applause and praise in the media, but it elicited respect for the man and improved Israel's national security. His heritage forewarns Israeli prime ministers to stand up to pressure and not to consider American pressure a reason to relinquish their vision and strategic goal, which would erode Israel's power of deterrence in the Middle East and in the corridors of power in Washington, DC.
Read the whole thing (.doc link). If only Bibi had a tenth of Shamir's courage....

Benny Begin: "Peace" with the Pals. impossible

He spells out why in this fine, lucid, irrefutable op-ed. So that makes three. That is, in recent weeks three members of Netanyahu's inner cabinet of seven--Avigdor Lieberman, Moshe Yaalon, and now Benny Begin--have come out of the closet and explained why they don't see peace with the Pals. as a possibility for the foreseeable future. The remaining members of the cabinet--Eli Yishai, generally sensible; Dan Meridor, iffy; Ehud Barak, generally not sensible; Netanyahu himself. Will sense prevail? It doesn't matter. As Yitzhak Shamir once said, "The Arabs will save us."
