Freedom of Speech Irrelevant for Muslim sensitivities

Under the Constitution, burning the Koran is completely legal, however...

in 2007, a Koran in a Pace University toilet triggered a 10 month investigation and a Muslim NYPD detective was assigned to pursue a student for a violation of Muslim law led to the arrest of one Stanislav Shmulevich on Hate Crime charges

Islam is a Political Ideology Disguised as a Religion

Below are some excerpts from the accompanying article at CBN:

VIENNA, Austria — Burning Korans and criticizing religions may generate anger in America, but it’s still freedom of speech guaranteed under the U.S. Constitution.
However in Europe, speaking out against Islam can lead to a jail sentence.
CBN News interviewed one Austrian citizen facing hate crimes charges for criticizing the Koran.
Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff still remembers her first exposure to Islam as a small child. It was 1979 and her father, an Austrian diplomat, was stationed in Tehran during the Iranian revolution.
“Millions of people were congregating and screaming ‘Allahu Akhbar,’” she said.
That incident began an eye-opening journey for Sabaditsch-Wolff, who would be stationed in several Islamic countries during her own diplomatic career. She was living in Libya nine years ago when the 9/11 attacks on New York City and Washington, D.C. occurred.
“My landlord came running down, banging on my door. And I opened the door and he ran inside my apartment and said, ‘The Jews did it!’ That was the first words he said,” she recalled.
Experiences like that led her to study the Koran and Islamic culture extensively.

This is the latest case of a European charged with hate speech against Islam.
Dutch parliamentarian Geert Wilders expects a verdict in his hate crimes trial later this year.
In addition to Austria and the Netherlands, hate speech charges have also been filed in the United Kingdom, Sweden, France, Denmark, Belgium and Finland — all against critics of Islam.
Sabaditsch-Wolff’s case is still under review in Austria. In the meantime, the self-described feminist says she will continue to speak out for the sake of future generations.
“Maybe we’re all wrong. Maybe this is the way to go. Maybe Islam really is peace and we’re wrong. I look at my daughter and I think ‘no.’ You have the right to live as you would like to live,” she said.
I think I will burn another Quran

Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff, 38, is the daughter of a retired diplomat. She spent parts of her childhood during the Khomeini Revolution in Iran. She later spent time in Iraq and Kuwait. In 1990, she and other Austrians were held hostage during the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait. She was employed at the Austrian embassies in Kuwait and Libya. From 1995-7 she was a member of the then-vice-chancellor, Wolfgang Schüssel. Sabaditsch-Wolff represents the Citizens' Movement Pax Europa on an international level.

Petraeus Condemns U.S. Church Plan to Burn Qurans and Mosque Supporters Double Standards of Freedom Religion

petraeus0906
so now the Mosque supporters want to limit the freedom of religion of Christians?  ...I don't get it.
The top U.S. commander in Afghanistan said the planned burning of Qurans on Sept. 11 by a small Florida church could put the lives of American troops in danger and damage the war effort.  Gen. David Petraeus said the Taliban would exploit the demonstration for propaganda purposes, drumming up anger toward the U.S. and making it harder for allied troops to carry out their mission of protecting Afghan civilians.

It is not in the spirit of the constitution for a military high ranking official to speak out against a group of believers when he is obviously enabling another very violent ideology. He is only highlighting why we can't trust him. It also becomes very obvious that the reason these wars have become less violent in the short term is because we have surrendered to Islam. The Jizya has become soldiers blood. will we learn anything from the history of Khaibar? we don't even address why Hamas has called their missiles Khaibar.

"It could endanger troops and it could endanger the overall effort," Gen. Petraeus said in an interview. "It is precisely the kind of action the Taliban uses and could cause significant problems. Not just here, but everywhere in the world we are engaged with the Islamic community."

[Petraus.1]Hundreds of Afghans attended a demonstration in Kabul on Monday to protest the plans of Florida pastor Terry Jones, who has said he will burn copies of Islam's holy book to mark the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. Afghan protesters chanted "death to America," and speakers called on the U.S. to withdraw its troops. Some
Military officials fear the protests will likely spread to other Afghan cities, especially if the event is broadcast or ends up on Internet video.
Mr. Jones, head of the 50-member Dove World Outreach Center in Gainesville, Fla., said in a statement that "We understand the General's concerns. We are sure that his concerns are legitimate." Nonetheless, he added, "We must send a clear message to the radical element of Islam. We will no longer be controlled and dominated by their fears and threats."
Mr. Jones has been denied a permit for the demonstration, but has said he plans to go forward with the protest.
The hypocrisy here is that these people were making false defenses to freedom of religion and now they want to censor a church. The only thing consistent is a Sharia enabling world view. The fact remains that religious practice is not protected by our Constitution, only religious belief.

It is their church. They decided to burn the Quran. Even if our government continues to call a hateful violent ideology like Islam a religion then this actually is not permitted because like I was saying before there is a difference between religious belief and religious practice or assemblage. Treat the goose like the gander. If you have to protect hate because it is a religion then you have to protect hate because it is a religion.  (I would argue that hating Islam is not hate) The best solution is to realize that hate is not a religion... btw.  Islam as practiced and dictated by Wahabists and Al Azahar is not a religion... it is hate. and I understand full well that other faiths consider the Quran holy, but Mosque supporters can not have it both ways.

Ahmadinejad: Koran burning will accelerate Israel's fall, annihilation

Labels: » » » » »
Ahmadinejad says plan is a "Zionist plot," Israel, its "supporters are on the path to collapse and decline and such desperate actions will not save them."

One can also call it Persian insanity hour.

(JPost) Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Friday that the planned Koran burning by Florida Reverend Terry Jones will bring the destruction of Israel, according to a PressTV report.

According to the report, Ahmadinejad said that the plan to burn Korans was a, "Zionist plot, and against the teachings of all divine prophets." The burning is scheduled for the September 11th terror attacks anniversary on Saturday.

"The Zionists and their supporters are on the path to collapse and decline and such desperate actions will not save them, but will accelerate their fall and annihilation," Ahmadinejad said at a Teheran meeting with Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and other leading Iranian officials.

On Thursday Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said Israel is behind the planned Koran burning, according to the official Iranian news agency IRNA.

“The software for this plan was made by the Zionists following their defeats against Muslims and the Islamic world,” Manouchehr said in a meeting with foreign diplomats in Iran.

According to the report, the foreign minister also blamed former US President George W. Bush and said Bush's rhetoric after the September 11 terrorist attacks led to the increase of Islamophobia in the country.

“The current US administration should fulfill its duties in guaranteeing the basic rights of American Muslims for avoiding the spread of such inappropriate and devilish moves,” added Mottaki.

Senior Iranian clergyman Ayatollah Safi Golpaygani also commented on the planned event, according to the DPA news agency.

"On behalf of a half billion Muslims, I condemn this savage plan and warn of its consequences," Golpaygani said in a statement on Iran's state television website, IRIB. "This pastor should be immediately arrested and his church closed down."

The ayatollah said US President Barak Obama would be held responsible if the "gruesome and inhuman act" takes place.

I mean... crazy doesn't even begin to cover it.

Hitler loved parades. Do you go to parades? if you go to parades then you are doing what Hitler did.

Egypt warns of fallout if Quran burning takes place

Labels:

CAIRO -- One of Egypt's top Muslim clerics says America's relations with the Muslim world will be damaged irreparably if radical pastor Jerry Jones carries out his threat to burn Qurans at his splinter church in Gainesville, Fla.

Jones operates Dove International Outreach Center, a church with about 50 members.

He and associates now say they will not burn Muslim holy books, as once planned, to mark the ninth anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

"If the government fails to stop this, this will be the latest manifestation of religious terrorism, and it would ruin America's relations with the Muslim world," said Sheikh Abdel-Muti Bayyoumi, who sits on Sunni Muslims' highest council at Al Azhar's Islamic Research Academy.

Al Azhar is one of the Muslim world's most respected learning institutions. President Obama called it "a beacon of learning" during his address to the Muslim world in Cairo in 2009.

...lot of good having Nobama speak at Al Azhar. get it yet? Al Azhar is what makes Islam Islam.
