European Swift Accounts and Data Freedom

Labels: » » » » »

While Europe hopes that America will assist it in its crack-down on “racist” websites and blogs, it is less keen to assist America in its battle against terrorism. In this context, civil-liberties and privacy concerns are invoked to deny the U.S. continued access to financial information from SWIFT (the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication), an international banking consortium, headquartered in Brussels, which processes inter-bank data. SWIFT processes millions of transactions daily between banks and other financial institutions worldwide. It holds the data of some 8,000 banks and operates in 200 countries.
The European Parliament has nixed any cooperation with the US regarding SWIFT data. What’s really mind-blowing, however, is that America had direct access to the data until its servers were moved to Europe at the end of 2009. That really made the headlines here, didn’t it? What one might be inclined to call a real swift move by the Obama administration. That is, if they had a choice.
one of the more interesting points in Mr. Belien’s post:

One of these NGOs is the Movement Against Racism and for Friendship among Peoples (French acronym MRAP), that monitors “racism” in France. Last January, the MRAP presented a 154-page report [pdf], listing more than 2,000 URLs (including 1,000 blogs) deemed to be “racist”, “racialist”, “ethno-differentialist”, “extreme-right”, “anti-Semitic,” “Islamophobic,” “homophobic,” “ultra-Zionist,” etc. The website of the American scholar Daniel Pipes is listed on page 129 as a “neoconservative” site which “develops Islamophobic themes.”
Imagine the hours these flunkies spent surfing the internet just to find writings and images they consider offensive. Imagine the time it took to create these categories. Why “ultra-Zionist” when they detest Zionism itself? And is there any category of “right” that is not prefaced with “extreme”? The two words have become synonymous. And do you think they’ve listed the Islamist web sites that have fatwahs and rantings about the evil West? Or is that protected under religious speech?

JihadJane: American blonde accused of terror plot and used social media like Youtube for contacts

Labels: » »
Looks like Mohammed ain't the only Islam Bitch Woof! Woof! Woof!

The indictment says that Ms LaRose posted a YouTube video as JihadJane in June 2008 saying she was "desperate to do something somehow to help" Muslims.
Youtube? but of course... isn't that why the Jewish Internet Defense Force was trying to get google to pull down these videos?

Within months, she was in contact with jihadists in Europe and Asia and agreed to marry a South Asian man to get him into Europe. In March last year the same man told her via e-mail to go to Sweden, find Mr Vilks "and kill him". According to the indictment, Mr LaRose replied: "i will make this my goal till i achieve it or die trying." Ms LaRose is said to have used the name JihadJane to create a MySpace page on which she described herself as a woman who had "reverted to Islam".

"I live in Pennsylvania, originally from Texas. I have recently (a couple months) reverted to Islam and I can safely say that of all the things I have ever done in my lifetime, becoming Muslim is what I am the proudest of," she wrote.

Jihad Jane" has been accused of plotting to murder a Swedish cartoonist for drawing a picture of the Prophet Muhammad with the body of a dog

the artist, Lars Vilks.

According to American media, the 40-year-old had internet contact with at least one of the seven people arrested in Ireland.

The connection between Jihad Jane and the seven, four men and three women, has been confirmed by two US officials to The Philadelphia Enquirer and by a spokesperson for the Irish police to news agency TT. The nature of the link is not yet known.

According to the charges in her indictment published on Tuesday, Colleen LaRose is suspected of "conspiracy to provide material support to terrorists, conspiracy to kill in a foreign country, making false statements to a government official and attempted identity theft."

I noticed that the younger terrorist's style was less garish, more military and as he got older his taste... well got worse.
not saying this means anything. The German National Socialists had great style.

I wonder if Marc Garlasco of Human Rights Watch will be collecting Qaddafi's outfits too?

The US state department has apologised for comments made about Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi's call for jihad against Switzerland.
Department spokesman PJ Crowley, who made the dismissive comments, said they did not reflect US policy and were not intended to offend.
but it gets worse. The Obama administration is making a pattern of apologizing to murderous thugs and totalitarian states.
Qaddafi rewards a killer of Americans and expects no consequence. A State Department official makes a dismissive (and accurate) comment about Libyan dictator and Qaddafi is furious.
Am I wrong in assuming that Qaddafi just declared war on the Swiss for not allowing symbolic architecture that threatens murder and forced conversion?
...and we just apologized. We should ostracize any one who voted for Obama.
