Rep. Eric Massa (D-N.Y.) will not seek re-election after only one term in office.
According to several House aides – on both sides of the aisle – the House ethics committee has been informed of allegations that Massa, who is married with two children, sexually harassed a male staffer.
Massa, whose departure endangers Democrats’ hold on a competitive seat, told POLITICO Wednesday afternoon that no one has brought allegations of misconduct to him.
Asked about the sexual harassment allegations, Massa said: "When someone makes a decision to leave Congress, everybody says everything. I have health issues. I'll talk about it [later].”

A Saudi Arabian father forced his 10-year-old daughter to return to her 80-year-old husband Sunday, after she was found hiding at the home of her aunt for 10 days, Arab News reported.
The young girl's husband, who denies he is 80 despite family claims, accused the aunt of violating the terms of his marriage, allowed by Sharia Law.
"My marriage is not against Sharia. It included the elements of acceptance and response by the father of the bride,” he told a local newspaper.
A member of the National Society for Human Rights said there are no regulations in place to stop the marriage of young girls, which is seen as harmful to their wellbeing.

In 1999 Stark attacked conservative California state welfare director Eloise Anderson (who is black and a former welfare mother), saying she would “kill children if she had her way.” Anderson’s sin was to be an advocate of welfare reform.
During a 2003 legislative mark-up session on pension funds, Stark hurled epithets such as “fruitcake” and “cocksucker” at Republican colleagues.
During debate on the House floor on October 18, 2007, Stark made the following remarks to Texas Republican Joe Barton:
“Republicans sure don't care about finding $200 billion to fight the illegal war in Iraq. Where are you going to get that money? Are you going to tell us lies like you're telling us today? Is that how you're going to fund the war? You don't have money to fund the war or children. But you're going to spend it to blow up innocent people if we can get enough kids to grow old enough for you to send to Iraq to get their heads blown off for the President's amusement.”
I was informed by my friend, Peyvand Khorsandi [Shappi Khorsandi's brother] about a Stop the War meeting in the House of Commons tonight where Galloway was speaking. We decided to go along and meet this stooge of dictators face to face.
While queuing to go through the security, we told the policeman who was directing the people to different queues that we were going to Committee Room 19. Two of the Stop the War enthusiasts heard us and cheerily said to us:
‘Oh we are going to the same meeting as well. Are you Palestinians?’
To which we replied
‘We like Palestinians but we are Iranians’.
The two women got even more excited and replied
‘Oh we also support Iran against the West!’.
They must have thought all Iranians support the regime in Iran. When I replied
‘So why don’t you go and live in Iran and allow two Iranian women to come here in your place and enjoy the same privileges you enjoy in the West’
…their initial enthusiasm was quickly turned into a shock. What a disappointment for them to find out we were not in the same ilk as them.
I asked them if they liked Galloway who used to be best pals with Saddam Hussein and his murderous son, Uday Hussein. They shook their heads and refused to believe that Galloway ever had anything to do with Saddam. I asked them if they would like to give me their emails so I could send them the video links of Galloway calling Uday ‘Your excellency’ and telling him ‘That he is with them to the end’. The two Stop the War devotees however were not what you would call open minded people, more like ostriches with their heads buried in the sand who did not want to know the truth or discuss alternative opinions. They even said ‘We are going to tell ‘them’ to stop you from coming to the meeting’ and moved ahead of the queue away from us.
So much for open debate and free discussion with these ‘useful idiots’.
As we entered the committee room, no one tried to stop us but the stares and the whispers indicated that many were uncomfortable about our presence. I quickly scanned the room, full of ‘useful idiots’, [ex] SWP’s John Rees and Lindsay German were there in the back, but I had managed to get a seat right next to Galloway himself. I was told to move because that chair was reserved for another speaker. Well that was the closest I got to the Supreme Leader I thought and happily obliged to move one chair away.
Press TV presenter and Respect MP, Galloway started the meeting and it wasn’t long before he went on about UK police brutality during the Gaza protests in London! My plan was genuinely to wait for question time and say
‘You had a moustache when you worked for Saddam, now you work for the Supreme Leader and wear a beard, but however you window dress yourself, you are nothing but a fraud, you can not liberate the people of Palestine by serving brutal dictators’
…but to be honest given that all of Galloway’s pets were there, neither did I think I would be given a chance to ask a question nor did I want to sit through two hours of this bullshit. So I shouted
‘How can you go on about police brutality in this country when you work for a regime whose police beat up, kill and rape peaceful protesters?’.
That was it. Peyvand started backing me up as well by asking him how he can go on about police brutality in UK but remain silent about all the crimes that are going in Iran?
And guess what? The same Galloway who was going on about UK police brutality had to ask the police not only to remove us from the room but he also insisted they detain us in the House of Commons police room until their meeting was over and they had left the building. You can’t write a better script than that, can you? what a hypocrite Galloway and Stop the War mob are! The same brutal ‘Fascist’ police they were referring to had to help them to hold their meeting.

As a man who made a child with a gentile this issue comes close to my heart, but I understand that in the end a human being grows up and makes his own decisions. We should have more faith in our kids then to assume that they are all just blank states for brainwashing. I am confident that no matter what amount of Christianity my son's grandparents give him that in the end he is going to want to know the other opinion. Jewish people need to have more faith in Judaism.
If a Christian is truly religious they will try to understand what Rabbinical Judaism is saying. Religion should not be a loyalty like a sports team. The questions religion proposes between Judaism and Christianity are in such a way that if there is no coercion that each individual has an opportunity to find either direction. There are also many variations between the duality of these faiths.
As a Jew many are shocked that I consider the idea of Kabbalah to be deeply pagan and idolatrous. The Torah to me is inspired by g-d and while probably very accurate is not to be considered the actual words of g-d. This puts even myself in conflict with other Jews and it is a deep philosophical schism that I have with a people who often ritually kiss Torah scrolls. I see no reason to any manifestation of g-d in literature. One would think this would put me at odds with the Jewish community, but it doesn't because the schism has not been politicized like the break between Judaism and Christianity.
Throughout the video interview Rebecca Reyes tears-up. She claims "This is about parenting. This is not about religion." But the interview transcripts tell a different story.

It's lighting Shabbas candles every Friday and having Shabbas dinner…I observe Passover, eight days of Passover, strictly. I observe Rosh Hashanah, I observe Yom Kippur… “
I truly wonder how interested in g-d either of these parents are or if this is really about their egos and taking punitive action on a former lover. It is so sad that their child is caught in the middle of this. The father is breaking his word and neither parent has understanding of their faith. This is a decision for the child to make.

Joseph Reyes and Rebecca Shapiro Reyes of Chicago are embroiled in a highly charged divorce and custody battle which has opened the ultimate interfaith can of worms.
The US media spotlight is focused on a plethora of divisive issues involving faith, freedom of religion, and parental rights.
Reyes, an alleged convert to Judaism, reverted back to Catholicism in the wake of a failing marriage. He had his 3-year old Jewish daughter baptized in a Catholic church without consulting his estranged Jewish wife, and then proceeded to invite the media to watch him parade his daughter to church in defiance of a court restraining order.
He now faces a possible prison sentence.
