Iran will have crude nuclear bomb - too large to be attached to any missile - by the end of this year, with estimates citing 2012 or 2014 as a target

today is the international day mentioning 65 years to the polish auschwitz murderous camp liberation... remember the 6 milion jews who were murdered by the damn evil nazis, that their only was that their only crime was that they were born as jews... NEVER AGAIN ! the nation of israel is strong!

...but what can done about Iranian WMDs?
Jan. 25, 2010
THE JERUSALEM POST

New intelligence acquired by Germany's BND and reportedly under review in Germany, Israel, the US and the UN in Vienna conclusively shows that Iran's nuclear program has an advanced military offshoot which answers to the country's defense establishment, Der Spiegel reported Monday.

Aside from exposing the existence of a clandestine weapons development program, the document apparently shows that Teheran is in possession of advanced blueprints for producing a nuclear bomb.

Such documents, as well as information passed on to Western intelligence agencies by Iranian defectors and sources within Iran, are causing growing alarm among US and European leaders. In its report, Der Spiegel assessed that the White House may consequently raise threat levels from yellow to red. World leaders and even the UN's International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), said the newspaper, are beginning to understand that rumors of Iranian defiance, noncompliance and warmongering are neither Israeli propaganda nor a figment of the imagination.

The intelligence document raises questions pertinent to the nature of Iran's nuclear program, which the Islamic republic claims is meant solely for peaceful energy production in a climate of dwindling natural resources, including oil. However, its evasive tactics, spiteful rhetoric and lack of transparency with Western bodies looking to halt the spread of nuclear weapons have caused world leaders to be concerned - and increasingly skeptical.

Reports which have surfaced in recent years hint that Iran's National Energy Council may not be the only body to which its nuclear scientists answer. In fact, according to Der Spiegel, Iranian Science, Research and Technology Minister Kamran Daneshjoo - a close ally of the country's hard-line president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad - worked for several years at a Teheran research and development center devoted to military technology. This government-sponsored scientific body is believed by Western intelligence agencies to have become subservient to Iran's defense ministry. Vague estimates state that the body, headed by 48-year-old Revolutionary Guard officer Mohsen Fahrizadeh, now deals in "high technology" in a manner that differs greatly from that of the country's energy council.

Der Spiegel suggested that the two bodies divide the labor of nuclear research and development between them, with the energy council focusing on uranium enrichment - the production of what could potentially evolve into fissile warhead material - and the defense ministry responsible for research on warheads compatible with Iran's North Korean-developed Shahab ballistic missile line.

As such, the Islamic republic may be able to produce a crude nuclear bomb - too large to be attached to any missile - by the end of this year, with estimates citing 2012 or 2014 as a target date for a fully functional warhead.

Also on Monday, France pushed for tougher sanctions against Iran just as Italian Foreign Minister Franco Frattini called for greater involvement by Arab countries in international efforts to defuse the nuclear threat from Teheran. China and Russia, though still unpredictable, are likely to agree to sanctions not targeted at the Iranian economy.

France will serve as the European Council's rotating president starting February.

US President Barack Obama has set January as a deadline for Iran to respond to diplomatic outreach. Western states, along with the UN, China and Russia, are still awaiting Teheran's final official response on a proposal which calls for the Islamic republic to ship a significant percentage of its low-enriched uranium abroad in exchange for a similar quantity of nuclear fuel.

Teens Oral Sex not a Big Deal and Neither is Getting Paid for Sexual Favors

Labels: » » » » » »
Virtue, self worth, and man's moral value are DOA in the age of the cultural domination of the left. What an awful stench this decaying corpse gives off, lying in a smoldering, fetid pile of ash.

The only sector of the economy that is in growth are jobs that women are stronger at... but when we said Service oriented industry we didn't mean this... or did we? Are we really nothing but whores? Pink collar over the last ten years has grown 10%. Now we understand why. Keep in mind there isn't any equivalence between the sexes in any other way because society is unforgiving to unemployed men and we do not have a friends with benefits option... or do we? oh but those sick leftists will force the men to give oral sex too. The feminists don't just put us in the poor house. They take our dignity away and force us to live in shame. The educational system has also gone out of it's way to discriminate towards men.
and yet our government is still pushing affirmative action in the stimulus bill? someone has to explain to these feminists about social engineering... it has always failed the people. While the Pink Collar fascists still have pictures of Hillary Clinton and her pant suit crew on their profile pictures on facebook, out-of-wedlock births to young women is getting out of hand... It isn't daddy's fault!

This is how the phony feminist movement empowered women? Girls selling the it for a handbag? Those men-hating parasites have ruined the glorious exaltation of women in 20th century America. I know, I grew up in it. All one has to do is watch movies from the forties, fifties, and sixties (before the left culture rout) to catch a glimpse of the status of women. We were then formidable, respected, treasured and above all .....revered. It was as good as it gets.
This vulgar and depressing documentary, 'Oral Sex Is the New Goodnight Kiss', is a companion piece to the trustee addressing the girls at the middle school about oral and anal sex. I am sickened by this. And not because I am prudish, but because it speaks volumes about how girls view themselves and their roles in society, and the ever-increasing diminishing of women in American society.
To say that feminism was one of the worst things to happen to women is being easy. It has been worse for men. The demon seeds of their "liberation" movement are everywhere - including the epidemic of single motherhood, the breakdown of the American family, the street vernacular of "bitches and hos," the emasculation of men and the bone crushing responsibility of single moms being mother, father, breadwinner, chief cook and bottle washer.
Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be lefties.
Teens: Oral Sex and Casual Prostitution No Biggie
Teens in Documentary Say Oral Sex 'Not That Big of a Deal' and Get Paid for Sexual Favors ABC news
"I ended up having sex with more than one person that night and then in the morning I
was trying to get morning-after pills," one of the girls said. "I was, like, 14 at the time."
It's just one of dozens of stories from teenage girls in a new documentary by Canadian filmmaker Sharlene Azam that aims to shed light on the secret, extremely sexual lives of today's teens.
After four years researching for the documentary, Azam told "Good Morning America" that oral sex is as common as kissing for teens and that casual prostitution -- being paid at parties to strip, give sexual favors or have sex -- is far more commonplace than once believed.
"If you talk to teens [about oral sex] they'll tell you it's not a big deal," Azam said. "In fact, they don't consider it sex. They don't consider a lot of things sex."
Evidence of this casual attitude may be seen in the fact that more than half of all teens 15 to 19 years old have engaged in oral sex, according to a comprehensive 2005 study by the Centers for Disease Control's National Center for Health Statistics.

'Oral Sex Is the New Goodnight Kiss'

In the documentary, "Oral Sex Is the New Goodnight Kiss," girls as young as 11 years old talk about having sex, going to sex parties and -- in some extreme situations -- crossing into prostitution by exchanging sexual favors for money, clothes or even homework and then still arriving home in time for dinner with the family.
"Five minutes and I got $100," one girl said. "If I'm going to sleep with them, anyway, because they're good-looking, might as well get paid for it, right?"
Another girl talked about being offered $20 to take off her shirt or $100 to do a striptease on a table at a party.
The girls are almost always from good homes, but their parents are completely unaware, Azam said.
"The prettiest girls from the most successful families [are the most at risk]. We're not talking about marginalized girls," she said. "[Parents] don't want to know because they really don't know what to do. I mean, you might be prepared to learn that, at age 12, your daughter has had sex, but what are you supposed to do when your daughter has traded her virginity for $1,000 or a new bag?"

Rebuttal of The Goldstone Report Coming Soon

Labels:
via daledamos.blogspot.com

The New York Times last week gave a preview of what to expect from Israel's rebuttal of the Goldstone Report.
The overall goal of Israel's response is to address the main overall claim of the report that Israel deliberately targeted civilians.
Among the particular charges that Israel will refute:

One concerned the destruction of Gaza’s sole flour mill. The Goldstone report asserts that the Bader flour mill “was hit by an airstrike, possibly by an F-16.” The Israeli investigators say they have photographic proof that this is false, that the mill was accidentally hit by artillery in the course of a firefight with Hamas militiamen.
The dispute is significant since the United Nations report asserts that “the destruction of the mill was carried out for the purpose of denying sustenance to the civilian population,” an explicit war crime.
A second finding concerned the destruction of a wastewater plant, leading to an enormous outflow of raw sewage. The Goldstone report contended that it was hit by a powerful Israeli missile in a strike that was “deliberate and premeditated.” The Israelis say they had nothing to do with that plant’s collapse and suggest that it may have been the result of Hamas explosives.

One of the problems with the report is that while it claimed to be nothing more than a 'fact-finding mission' it was both handled as and perceived as more than that. As a result, there are over 32,000 websites and blogs that trumpet the claim that Goldstone and his group "found Israel guilty of war crimes".
And how many websites trumpet that Goldstone "found Hamas guilty of war crimes"? Just over 200.
But Israel is more concerned with how the report reflects on them than on Hamas--and even groups that criticize Israel think Goldstone went too far:
While many here think that the Goldstone report failed to expose of the practices of Hamas, they are more concerned about their own army’s conduct. Still, virtually no one in Israel, including the leaders of Breaking the Silence and the human rights group B’Tselem, thinks that the Goldstone accusation of an assault on civilians is correct.
“I do not accept the Goldstone conclusion of a systematic attack on civilian infrastructure,” said Yael Stein, research director of B’Tselem. “It is not convincing. But every incident and every policy has to be checked by an independent body because the military cannot check itself. They need to explain why so many people were killed.”
We can only hope that once the Israeli response comes out, Goldstone will finally stop claiming that there is no criticism of his report that deals with the content of his report.

CAMERA: - Anna Baltzer - Jewish Defamer of Israel

Labels:
Yes she is the gas faced woman who showed up on John Stewart's show. Think Vanna White fused with a Demon. This little Harpy is causing a lot of lies:

In 1505, a Moravian Jew named Joseph Pfefferkorn denounced his faith and undertook a campaign to get the Talmud banned by claiming it blasphemed Christianity. Pfefferkorn was unschooled and a criminal, but that didn't stop the Dominicans in Cologne, who at the time were eager to cast aspersions on the Jews, from employing him. They recognized the value of a Jew accusing other Jews.

The practice of finding Jews to bear false witness against other Jews has been repeated in many venues. Today, in America, some mainline Protestant churches have eagerly adopted this practice in an effort to demonize Israel. In November 2009, the Wyoming Presbyterian church in Milburn, New Jersey invited Jewish anti-Israel activist Anna Baltzer to speak and present her slide show alleging Israeli crimes against the Palestinians.

Baltzer is an acolyte of the International Solidarity Movement (ISM), a cult-like group that recruits naive Westerners to interfere with Israeli anti-terror operations. Its founders have spoken approvingly of suicide bombings. Baltzer boasts a busy schedule of speaking engagements at churches, universities and even an appearance on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Her message consists mostly of rehashed accusations against Israel made by Palestinian speakers. But Baltzer uses her Jewish heritage to accrue credibility before predominantly non-Jewish audiences who often fail to see through her deception.

In her appearance at the Presbyterian church, Baltzer told the audience that they were responsible for alleged Israeli transgressions on the West Bank because "if the Israeli government does it, in fact its really U.S. taxpayers doing it." Settlers carry U.S-made weapons, she said. Her attempt to conflate the privately owned small arms of Israeli citizens with American support for Israel's national defense is typical of her deceptiveness.

Baltzer's core message is to delegitimize Israel.

She foists upon her audience absurd claims, like her assertion that the Arab armies who invaded the Jewish state the day after its founding were merely reacting to Israel's expulsion of 350,000 Palestinians from their homes. Aside from sanitizing the stated Arab intention to eliminate Israel, she also misrepresents the impetus behind Palestinian flight. Noted historian Efraim Karsh demolished the myth of Palestinian expulsion. His book, "Fabricating Israeli History" documents how most Palestinian flight was stoked by their own leadership and that relatively few were compelled by Jewish forces.

Baltzer analogizes Israel's treatment of the Palestinians with South African apartheid, contending that the reason there is no Palestinian Nelson Mandela is that Palestinians are not allowed to organize because Israel jails potential leaders. In reality, most Palestinians sitting in Israeli jails are tied to terrorist acts against Israelis. Moreover, Palestinians have their own governing institutions. In her zeal, Baltzer can't even get Mandela's story right. In fact, the famed South African leader spent much of his adult life sitting in a South African jail.

Despite her accolade as a peace activist, Baltzer is an apologist for Hamas, whose founding charter invokes Islamic doctrine to sanctify killing Jews. The most Baltzer can admit to is that Hamas is "more aggressive [than the secular Palestinian group, Fatah]." Proclaiming that it has agreed to a long-term ceasefire if Israel will withdraw to its recognized borders, Baltzer ignores Hamas's repeated affirmation it will never accept Israel's right to exist.

Baltzer mocks Israel's attempts to protect its population and reveals a contempt for the lives of Palestinians too. She decries Israel's decision to build the "Wall," rhetorically asking, "does segregation bring peace?" The facts are clear. In the year prior to the decision to build the security barrier, 452 Israelis were murdered by Palestinian terrorists, mostly in suicide bombings. Since the building of the barrier, that figure has gone down by more than 90 percent and in 2009 there were no successful suicide bombings in Israel.

Baltzer promotes blood libels against Israel. In her talk at the Wyoming Church an attendee challenged her as to why she published on her blog for months a false story spread by one of her colleagues accusing Israeli soldiers of shooting several Palestinian children in front of their mother. Baltzer retorted that she removed the story prior to her appearance on the Daily Show in October upon learning it was false. She added that although this case turned out not to be true, "I don't think its hateful to hold a nation accountable for targeting civilians." So while admitting one story was a lie, she continues to promote another unsubstantiated accusation.

Baltzer urges on the Palestinians to further intifadas. This ultimately reflects back on the churches, like the Wyoming Presbyterian church who invite her to speak. According to a community newspaper's account of the event, when an audience member questioned why the church repeatedly invited speakers with an anti-Israel message and none to present the other side, a church member responded, "... any time you want to put together such a meeting, the minister reports to us." The Interim Pastor, Lou Kilgore added, "I'll make the same offer," but indicated since he's temporary, you'll have to hurry.

Pastor Kilgore's response reveals the depth of the problem. While providing a platform for Baltzer's anti-Israel advocacy, they absolve themselves of the responsibility to provide a balanced educational perspective. They leave it up to the Jewish community to supply a speaker to rebut the anti-Israel speakers. When it comes to incitement against Jews, how little has changed.

From the New Criterion.

Tim Tzouliadis’s The Forsaken tells of thousands of American socialists and Communists who moved to the Soviet Union in the thirties to find work and a workers’ paradise. They were quickly disappointed. Adam Hothschild reviews the book in the London Times (TNC subscribers can read Stephen Schwarz’s review from the September 2008 issue here):

From Alexander Solzhenitsyn and other Russians who have borne witness, we know about the midnight arrests, the interrogations and forced confessions, the trains hauling packed boxcars of emaciated prisoners to the labour camps scattered across the Arctic, Siberia, Kazakhstan and elsewhere. Tzouliadis traces the story of the Americans who got caught up in this madness through a wide range of letters and documents, and the published memoirs of two men who played on American baseball teams in Moscow in the mid-1930s, Victor Herman and Thomas Sgovio. Unlike many of their fellow players, whom they occasionally encountered in the gulag, they survived their imprisonment: Herman in central Russia and Sgovio in Kolyma. No one knows how many of the American immigrants were caught up by the Purge and perished either in execution cellars or in the camps, although one mass grave with more than 140 American bodies was found in 1997 near the Finnish border. Tzouliadis does not try to estimate the total American dead. My own guess would be that the figure is in the thousands; if we add victims among Britons and other Westerners living in USSR at the time, the total would be in the tens of thousands.

The list of useful idiots in the West is long but not very distinguished: Roger Baldwin, founder of the ACLU, Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, author and playwright, Lillian Hellman, noted author, Ernest Hemingway, and many more.

However one of the more prominent, but ironically less known, members of the “League of Useful Idiots” was correspondent, Moscow bureau chief of the New York Times, Pulitzer Prize winner, and Stalin apologist, Walter Duranty.

Duranty had a psychology which not influenced his writings but set him apart from other journalists of the day.

From the first there are certain facets of his character that differentiated him from his peers. He was imaginative and elitist, he would deliberately adopt the view of the minority on various issues, his stories would be embellished and appear more literary in form than
straight reporting. Taylor notes that he acquired initial fame with an “imagine you are there” story about the Paris Peace conference at
the end of the First World War.

What makes Walter Duranty so circumspect was not only his sympathetic view of Stalin but his under reporting on the Ukrainian famine of 1932.

Breaking Eggs and Peasants

Duranty continually described Stalin as a man who “could not make an omelet without breaking a few eggs.” This was in reference to Uncle Joe’s first Five Year Plan in which Russia moved towards industrialization and agro-collectivism. While the industry rebuild was very successful the forced state ownership Soviet agriculture and peasant manned farming co-ops was a caustic reality for some in the communist state. In 1932 a famine swept across the Russian province of Ukraine in which upwards of 10 million Russians perished from starvation and malnutrition. Scholarly debate still ranges on the exact cause of the 1932 Ukrainian famine–also known as Holodomor or Hunger-Plague–but wildly held logic is the agro-economic “reforms” enacted were directly responsible. Although other theories assert that it was in direct response from the Soviet government to punish Ukraine for its growing nationalism.

Holodomor Never Happened

For six decades the Soviet Union continued to deny that the Ukrainian genocide even took place. It was not until peristokia, in the early nineties, did the Soviets finally reach full disclosure admitting the Famine actually took place and the numbers that died. Nevertheless, in the early 30’s, while the Famine was ongoing, Walter Duranty traveled the Russian countryside witnessing these atrocities first hand. Despite the realities of human suffering, Duranty continued currying Stalin’s favor by severely under reporting the carnage to the West. Thus making himself and the Times willing accomplices and complicit in the murders of millions innocent Ukrainians.

In 1933, Franklin Roosevelt officially recognized the legitimacy of Stalin’s murderous regime thanks in part to Duranty’s air-brushing of Stalin and the events which took place in Russia.

Pulitzer Controversy

Under protest by Ukrainian advocacy groups, in 2003 the New York Times reviewed Duranty’s Pulitzer Prize which he received for 13 articles he penned in 1931. Not so astoundingly, the Times and Pulitzer Prize Board lived up to their Liberal reputation. Deciding not to revoke Duranty’s Pulitzer citing that a Pulitzer is “awarded not for the author’s body of work or for the author’s character but for the specific pieces entered in the competition.”

I am sure that if Walter Duranty had outlived his usefulness to Stalin and was one of the Western useful idiots caught up in the Great Purge we would still be hearing and unending diatribe from the Times about his tireless contributions to humanity. Since that is not the case, the Times lives with the knowledge they assisted Stalin, through Duranty, in the murder of millions of innocents.

Not that it matters since you can’t make an omelet without breaking a few million eggs, even if those eggs are human beings.

Mahathir: Jews “had to be periodically massacred” | Courier Mail Andrew Bolt Blog

Labels:
Malaysia’s former premier Mahathir Mohamad said on Wednesday there was “strong evidence” the US faked the September 11 terror attacks as an excuse to go to war against Muslims.

This Jew-hating, terrorist-excusing conspiracy theorist was actually the elected leader of Malaysia - and spoke at a Muslim gathering where he expected his views to win support:

“There is strong evidence that the attacks were staged. If they can make Avatar, they can make anything,’ Mahathir told the Conference for the Support of Al-Quds (Jerusalem), as quoted by local media.

The former premier also blamed Jews for hindering progress in US foreign policy. Voicing his disappointment that Barack Obama had not yet ended the war in Afghanistan or closed the US terror detention center at Guantanamo, he explained that “there are forces in the United States which prevent the president from doing some things. One of the forces is the Jewish lobby.”

Jews “had always been a problem in European countries. They had to be confined to ghettoes and periodically massacred. But still they remained, they thrived and they held whole governments to ransom,” Mahathir said.

“Even after their massacre by the Nazis of Germany, they survived to continue to be a source of even greater problems for the world.”

Here’s the frightening question: For how many Muslims does Mahathir speak?

And perhaps we should for once ask to what extent this man’s disgraceful bigotry and victimology is driven by Islam rather than seek again to blame ourselves for his vileness, as in this recent effort, reported in The Age:

Malaysia’s relationship with Canberra was at best prickly and diplomats could not understand why Dr Mahathir held such a jaundiced view. Barry Wain, an Australian journalist who has observed Dr Mahathir for 37 years, provides some of the answers to the mystery.

In 1969 Dr Mahathir, a first-term politician and a rising political star, was invited on an all-expenses-paid trip to Australia as a guest of the Foreign Ministry in Canberra. But he lost his seat in an election that year and a few days before he was due to depart the Australians asked him to postpone the trip....

Two years later Dr Mahathir accepted an Australian Government offer to visit Canberra after attending a seminar at his own expense at Monash University, only to find the hospitality in the capital as bleak as the weather. In his book, Malaysian Maverick: Mahathir Mohamad in Turbulent Times, Wain maintains Dr Mahathir never forgot how he was treated all those years ago.

So does cold hospitality in Canberra also explain why Mahathir believes Jews “had to be confined to ghettoes and periodically massacred”? Or has some faith or ideology pushed him to that conclusion?

Under Mahathir, Malaysia was a staunch supporter of the Palestinian cause, and established diplomatic relations with the Palestine Liberation Organization. (Israeli citizens remain banned from entering Malaysia and Malaysian citizens from Israel without special government permission.) In 1986, a major diplomatic row erupted with neighbouring Singapore when Chaim Herzog, the President of Israel, paid a state visit.

Mahathir's public remarks about Jews date back as early as 1970 when he wrote in his controversial book The Malay Dilemma: "The Jews for example are not merely hook-nosed, but understand money instinctively."

In 1997, during the financial crisis, he attributed the collapse of the Malaysian ringgit to a conspiracy of Jews against a prosperous Muslim state: "The Jews robbed the Palestinians of everything, but in Malaysia they could not do so, hence they do this, depress the ringgit." Under strong international criticism, he issued a partial retraction, but not in Malay language media sources.

On 16 October 2003, shortly before he stepped down as prime minister, Mahathir said during a summit for the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) in Putrajaya, that:

We [Muslims] are actually very strong, 1.3 billion people cannot be simply wiped out. The Nazis killed 6 million Jews out of 12 million [during the Holocaust]. But today the Jews rule the world by proxy. They get others to fight and die for them. They invented socialism, communism, human rights and democracy so that persecuting them would appear to be wrong so they may enjoy equal rights with others. With these they have now gained control of the most powerful countries. And they, this tiny community, have become a world power.

He also named Israel as "the enemy allied with most powerful nations." Israel strongly criticized the remarks. The speech was also condemned by most nations from the West. Speaking on behalf of the European Union, Italian Foreign Minister Franco Frattini said that Dr Mahathir had employed "expressions that were gravely offensive, very strongly anti-Semitic and... strongly counter to principles of tolerance, dialogue and understanding'." At the same time, Mahathir's speech was defended by several Muslim leaders and politicians, including Egyptian foreign minister Ahmed Maher and Afghanistan's President Hamid Karzai. United States Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said Bush considered the comments "reprehensible and hateful." The Muslim Public Affairs Council condemned Mahathir's remarks as "extremely offensive, anti-Semitic comments." The Malaysian prime minister's comments were also condemned by Jewish organizations and the government of Israel.

His comments were widely criticized in the West, but the issue was ignored in Asia and Islamic countries, which felt that his remark had been taken out of context. Mahathir later defended his remarks, saying: "I am not anti-Semitic ... I am against those Jews who kill Muslims and the Jews who support the killers of Muslims." He tagged the West as "anti-Muslim", for double standards by "protecting Jews while allowing others to insult Islam." He also said "But when somebody condemns the Muslims, calls my prophet, "terrorist", did the European Union say anything?"[45] Despite saying he is not anti-semitic, many of his speeches criticizes and condemns Jews directly as he said recently,

“The Jews had always been a problem in European countries. They had to be confined to ghettoes and periodically massacred. But still they remained, they thrived and they held whole governments to ransom."

He even went on saying something that can be perceived as supporting the Nazi Germany policy and the Holocaust.

“Even after their massacre by the Nazis of Germany, they survived to continue to be a source of even greater problems for the world. The Holocaust failed as a final solution,”

In 2006 he had a 2-hour talk with James W. Walter and William Rodriguez with regards to the US Government involvement in the 9/11 attacks. He urged the world's 1.3 billion Muslims to boycott Dutch products following the release of the anti-Islam movie Fitna by the Dutch politician Geert Wilders, it was reported on 30 March 2008.

Palestinian Authority nabs six Hamas speaker aides

Labels:

Palestinian Authority security agents on Sunday arrested six men who work as aides to Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) Speaker Aziz Dwaik.

PLC Speaker Aziz Dwaik (right) meets UK millionaire David Martin Abrahams in Hebron, Wednesday.

The men were arrested in Ramallah shortly after a press conference held by Dwaik, who is Hamas's most senior representative in the West Bank.

They were taken into custody after the agents, who belong to the PA's General Intelligence Service, intercepted two cars carrying Dwaik and Hamas legislator Mahmoud Ramahai in Ramallah.

The six were identified as Firas Abed, Baha Farah, Khaldoun Mazloum, Murad Abu Baha, Ibrahim al-Sabi and Abdullah Ghanem.

Dwaik condemned the arrest of his aides as "an act of piracy" and "an assault on his parliamentary immunity." He also warned that the arrests could harm efforts by some Arab countries to achieve "national reconciliation" between Hamas and Fatah.
Dwaik urged PA President Mahmoud Abbas to "halt the process of lies and misinformation" regarding his desire to end the conflict with Hamas. He added that the arrests were an indication of the "continued moral, political and security deterioration of the Palestinian Authority policies in the West Bank."
The PLC speaker expressed fear that the latest move against his staff was part of a wider scheme aimed at launching a new offensive against Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
The arrests were prompted by Dwaik's announcement during the press conference that the PLC would not be dissolved when its four-year mandate expires on Monday. Dwaik also called for holding a new session of the PLC in the West Bank and Gaza Strip at the request of one-quarter of the legislators.
The PLC has not been able to meet over the past few years due to the crisis between Hamas and Fatah.

Dwaik justified the decision to extend the mandate of the PLC by arguing that it ends only when newly-elected members of the parliament are sworn in.
He also stressed the need to end divisions among the Palestinians and the formation of a Hamas-Fatah unity government. He said that such a government was needed to prepare for new presidential and parliamentary elections.

Dwaik and many Hamas legislators and officials were arrested by Israel shortly after the abduction of IDF soldier St.-Sgt. Gilad Schalit. However, most of them were released in the past few months.

Since Abbas's term in office expired in January 2009, Dwaik is seen by many Palestinians as acting president of the PA because the Palestinian constitution states clearly that the speaker of parliament would serve in the post for 60 days pending new elections.

But since his release from Israeli prison several months ago, the PA leadership has banned Dwaik from returning to work in his office at the PLC headquarters in Ramallah.

Dwaik's call to convene the PLC was immediately rejected by the PA leadership. Azzam al-Ahmed, a senior Fatah legislator and close advisor to Abbas, said that the parliament should first determine its position toward Hamas's "coup" against the PA in the Gaza Strip.
He said that Fatah legislators were now holding consultations with other parliamentary lists to convene a special session to condemn the Hamas maneuver. Al-Ahmed strongly criticized Dwaik as one of the icons of the alleged coups and said he was "incompetent" to play any role in mediation efforts between Hamas and Fatah.

A senior aide to Abbas said he did not rule out the possibility that Dwaik and other Hamas legislators would be arrested "if they continued their provocations and attempts to undermine the status of the Palestinian Authority." He noted that as of Monday the Hamas legislators would not be able to hide behind their parliamentary immunity.

The decision to arrest Dwaik's aides also came less than 48 hours after the PA expressed concern over contacts between Westerners and Hamas. The PA was responding to a meeting last week between Dwaik and British businessman David Martin Abrahams in Hebron.

Abrahams said he came to see Dwaik and other Hamas leaders as part of a mission to facilitate dialogue between the Islamist movement and the international community. A PA official in Ramallah warned that such meetings were causing damage to the peace process and undermining the standing of Abbas and Fatah.

It is hard to believe that it would be done in such an obvious manner. In the January 7 Wall Street Journal:

Finally, there is the issue of Brazil's apparent lack of concern regarding Iran's increasing penetration into Latin America through Venezuela. There are now weekly flights between Caracas and Tehran that bring passengers and cargo into Venezuela without any customs or immigration controls. Venezuela has also signed agreements with Iran for transferring nuclear technology, and there is speculation it is giving Iran access to Venezuelan uranium deposits.

Instead of expressing concern over Iran's activities in Latin America, Brazil is drawing closer to Tehran and hopes to expand its $2 billion bilateral trade to $10 billion in the near future. President Lula recently hosted President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in Brazil. He reiterated his support for Iran's right to develop nuclear technology for peaceful uses, while insisting that there is no evidence that Iran is developing nuclear weapons.

They are smuggling uranium to the fourth Reich

Police in the north Brazilian state of Amapa have unearthed a cache with 450 kg of enriched uranium ore, a dangerous mineral used for nuclear arms production.

The operation to seize radioactive material was a result of four-month work by investigators, who found a bag of pitchblende on Friday in a remote area of tropical rainforest.

Pitchblende, or uraninite, is an extremely radioactive mineral used as a major component for the production of fuel for nuclear power plants and nuclear arms.

An investigation is underway.

Brazil's nuclear capabilities are considered the most advanced in Latin America. The country runs its sole nuclear power plant, Angra, with two reactors, and a third is under construction.

The Tri-Border Area (TBA) between Argentina, Paraguay, and Brazil is comprised of three cities: Puerto Iguazu (Argentina), Ciudad del Este (Paraguay), and Foz do Iguacu (Brazil). The area is well known as a haven for illicit activities ranging from counterfeiting to intellectual property theft to money laundering, and has been pointed to as a central point for the laundering of funds from drug trafficking and for the funding of terrorist organizations (believed to come from supporters within the large Arab population in the region). Specializing in financial crime, the area is known as the “largest illicit economy in the Western Hemisphere.” A Federal Research Division, Library of Congress report notes that while estimates of the amount of money laundered in the TBA vary greatly, the amount was reported to average 12 billion USD per year as of 2000-01.

The same Federal Research Division report states that:
Brazilian authorities have estimated that more than US$6 billion a year in illegal funds is laundered in the TBA. Every evening, a dozen armored trucks loaded with laundered money leave Ciudad del Este for Foz do Iguaçu, the Brazilian town on the opposite side of the border.

Over the years, there has been disturbing information about the presence of radical Islamic terrorist groups in Latin America. The Americas Report has published several articles regarding this subject including a recent article on how terrorists have and could use fake or doctored passports to enter the United States to carry out attacks.1 In light of this information, it is important to know which Islamic terror groups are present in the region and the threat they could pose to regional security.
