when criticism of Islam does go too far

Labels:
I have a shocker for you folks... I actually think this is a crime. the cartoons are fair game and Islam is for certain violent and deserves it's criticism, but these posters are designed to harass... and so while I think we should do more cartoons like this... putting media that is intent to disturb someone's business or home should not be tolerated.

Remember the case of the Muslim cartoons posted outside a mosque, a Somali owned store and other Muzzie layabouts? The cops said they had a pretty good idea who had posted them but the individual has never been named and the cartoons (Prophet Mo engaged in bestiality and other things! Islamic crescent with a swastika!) were never shown (darn it). As you can imagine, the local Islamos were in high dudgeon about it. They still are.
Mohamoud Mohamed, a Somali activist in St. Cloud, said the cartoons demonstrate a violent mind-set, and Mayor Dave Kleis says he thinks the man should face legal consequences.
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Two Minnesota prosecutors say they won't file charges against a man who investigators say admitted posting anti-Muslim images in front of a mosque, a Somali-owned store and other spots.
They say the cartoons are protected under the First Amendment.

Eye On The World: Wife of CIA base bomber: "I am proud of my husband"

ISTANBUL (AFP) – The Turkish wife of the Jordanian suicide bomber who killed seven CIA agents in Afghanistan expressed pride on Thursday in what he had done.

"I am proud of my husband. He carried out a great operation in this war. I hope Allah will accept his martyrdom, if he has become a martyr," Defne Bayrak told reporters in Istanbul, where she lives.

"I am not ashamed. He did this against the American occupation" of Afghanistan, she said, the Turkish news agency Anatolia reported.

Bayrak's husband, Humam Khalil Abu-Mulal al-Balawi, blew himself up at a US military base near the Pakistani border on December 30 in the deadliest attack against the Central Intelligence Agency since 1983. [...]

"It is not likely my husband was a spy because he was an enemy of America... My husband could have only exploited America and Jordan," she was quoted by Anatolia as saying.

Media nervous on new Duke U. rape case (updated)

Labels: »
the rule goes like this... if it is young men and there is an accusation the swarm them like flies, but if it is a homosexual who molests a little boy then it isn't a story... this is the culture we live in. the real rape case at Duke. btw... I'm tired of getting hit on by gay men. When are we going to stand up and tell gay men that if heterosexuals have to go through this crap with women that we don't need to deal with their advances as well.

A new and even more scandalous rape allegation has surfaced at Duke University. Yet the usual media and campus PC crowd are keeping mighty quiet. Identity politics apparently trumps all sense of outrage.

Of course, after the disgraceful media and university reaction to the phony allegations against Duke Lacrosse team members, it is wise avoid jumping to conclusions, but the comparative silence on the current case is nonetheless remarkable, considering how many particulars of the case were left out of the main AP account.

Mike Adams, writing on Townhall, lays out the facts the MSM won't:

Frank Lombard is the associate director of Duke's Center for Health Policy. The university administrator was recently arrested by the FBI and charged with offering up his adopted 5-year-old son for sex. I tried to contact Frank Lombard over the weekend to probe his expertise regarding the health benefits of raping small children. So far, he's declined to comment.

University administrator Lombard is accused of logging on to a chat room online and describing himself as a "perv dad for fun." The detective who wisely looked into the suspicious screen name says that Lombard admitted to molesting his own adopted son. All this was before allegedly inviting a stranger to travel to North Carolina from another state to statutorily rape his already-molested adopted son.

It gets worse. The allegations are stunning and sickening. Adams spares us what he says is the worst.

However, identity politics are probably also involved in understanding the media response. Again, Adams:

The Associate Press (AP) did not mention the fact that the five-year old offered up for molestation was black. Bringing that fact to light might be damaging to the political coalition that exists between blacks and gays. Nor did the AP mention that the adopted child is being raised by a homosexual couple. Bringing that fact to light might harm the gay adoption movement.

I am afraid that as far as the media and academic communities are involved, it is not the crime itself that matters, but rather whether the alleged perp is a member of an "oppressor" group. Although white, Lombard is gay, so in the interest of avoiding unpleasant stories involving homosexual adoption, the media is anxious to shut down public interest in the affair.

However, the outspokenness and willingness to judge in advance a case involving white jocks - easy targets - of Duke and media, inevitably place a spotlight on their handling of another Duke rape allegation.

Hat tip: Richard Baehr

Update: Thomas Lifson notes that Stanley B. Chambers of the Raleigh News and Observer (hat tip: C. Edmund Wright) brings is the following nugget:

Lombard, a licensed clinical social worker with a master's degree in social work, is a health-disparities researcher who studies HIV/AIDS in the rural South.

This means that Lombard toiled in fields of the victimology industry, mining data for correlations that would underwrite government favoritism of victim groups.

A victimologist victimized at least one child in the most heinous way. The ultimate victim(s). And the media see no hypocrisy, and want to make sure the public doesn't either. Nothing to see here, move along.

All this coming in the wake of another highly publicized incident at the same prominent university? I don't think they can suppress this one. The conservative media have the power to put this case on the national agenda. It is too dramatic.

is Abdulmutallab just poor disaffected youth?

Labels:

The son of the chief of the Nigerian central bank is hardly ”middle class” in Africa. the poor are in touch with their element. it takes money to have the time to think about being unloved. it takes money to start looking for some kind of systematic love. and then it takes money to blame g-d on false religion. cloud 9. these kids want a taste of reality. the answers to terrorism is to be strong and not give them what they want. reality is like porn for these kids. don't let them see you. they chase tangibility to their grave. they want to see you so they can martyr you. stand strong and attack them when they can't see you. don't give them what they obviously want. they don't deserve to consume us.

Consider this list of known al-Qaeda terrorists, and find what links all of them:

• Kahlid Sheikh Mohammed was a mechanical engineer

• Mohammed Atta grew up in a middle class household; his father was an attorney.

• Ramzi Binalshibh was a bank clerk.

• Mohammed Atef was an Egyptian police officer.

• Marwan al-Shehhi was a soldier studying in Germany on an Army scholarship.

• Ziad Jarrah came from a wealthy Lebanese family and attended private, Christian schools.

• Abdulaziz Alomari graduated with honors from his Saudi high school and went on to graduate from college.

• Wail M. Alshehri was a Saudi P.E. teacher and university student.

• Waleed M. Alshehri, also a student, was Wail’s brother. Their father was a prominent Saudi tribal leader.

• Zacarias Moussaoui, the “20th hijacker,” had an MA in international business studies.

• Major Malik Nadal Hasan, the Fort Hood shooter, was a psychiatrist.

• Umar Farouk Abdul Mutallab, the underwear bomber, was the son of a bank chairman.

• Hammam Khalil Abu Mulal al-Balawi, who killed eight CIA agents in Afghanistan last month, was a physician.

A few of the “muscle hijackers” on 9/11 might have qualified as poor. Richard Reid, too, although his father was a career criminal, so poverty can hardly take all the blame in his case. But most of the 9/11 hijackers and other al Qaeda terrorists who have tried to attack the United States cannot be classified as poor.

When looking for one factor that unites all al Qaeda operatives, it is clearly not poverty. Al Qaeda’s terrorists cannot be connected based on their family or personal income. The one commonality they all share is an adherence to radical Islam. (The emergence of female suicide bombers in Iraq eliminates the other commonality, that prior to that all were male.)

once we figure out it is Islam we are dealing with that is the problem, then we can strategize that Islam has division from within and we can use one enemy against the other in such a way that they will do our fighting for us. Islam has always been broken. there is no moderate and orthodox fundamentalism. there are no good guys or bad guys. there is only keeping out of their way. If we can acknowledge that essence then we will know that there is no reason to permanently occupy an entire country. our goals should be little bases through out the middle east to be seconds away from an arial attack. ground troops just give our enemy an immediate reason to suspect a power that they fear. we should be invisible but always there. They might not be afraid to die, but the little villages will learn to free themselves of this element if they know that there is immediate responses to any terrorism. we should not be anxiety ridden every time we decide to strike back. we should always be ready as a routine in the future. the lesson Israel learned from 2006 in Lebanon and 2008 in Gaza is that while there is an immediate public relations problem from returning fire... that it does contain the violence. our bases need to be balanced with a public relations war.
I believe we are not fighting. We are nothing but Saud henchmen. this is no way to win. We must not be leashed by the Saudis. We must have little bases through out the Islamic world... and we must not occupy whole countries. Invisibility is the only way to fight an enemy. they will blame whatever power that is visible. let them destroy themselves. the people will learn to reject these regimes if they feel these regimes cause the wrath of missiles. why are we sending ground troops? why are we spilling our blood to nation build countries that can not be rebuilt? they need to evolve themselves. We merely need to exercise Pavlovian technique. the rats and mice don't know where the shock comes from. invisibility is how you destroy a reactionary enemy. let them live in fear of the concept of the west if they must... there is nothing we can do about that. but why send our own bodies out there?

NEW SPIN ON REASONS BEHIND DETROIT BALL BOMBER ABDULMUTALLAB'S TERRORIST ATTEMPT:
IT'S NOT ISLAM BUT THE WEALTH STUPID

He was “middle-class”, you see. He was lonely. He was “seduced”. There is no end to this. The perps from the MSM are criminally insane. Why are they so obsessed with finding excuses for Islamic terrorism? The son of the chief of the Nigerian central bank is hardly ”middle class” in Africa. He is upper, upper class. But the class-warriors at the Daily Mail have an ideological problem with “middle class” and use it for smears….Daily Mail has more

Daily Mail's Richard Pendlebury: "Instead, his wealth simply steered him towards a more sophisticated extremism in the role of a spearhead soldier of the international jihad."

Islam is not a Religion, but it appears Leftism is

http://www.applet-magic.com/lysenkoism.htm"Jasper Becker in Hungry Ghosts traces the foolishness of close planting to the fraudulent science of the Soviet Union. T.D. Lysenko was a quack who got the support of Joseph Stalin and ruled over Soviet genetics for twenty five years. Among the many erroneous notions promoted by Lysenko and which had to be accepted in Marxist countries was his Law of the life of species which said that plants of the same species do not compete with each other but instead help each other to survive. This was linked to the Marxist notion of classes in which members of the same class do not compete but instead help each other survive. So Marxist ideology seemed to support the notion that the denser grain is planted the better it is for the grain. But in reality this close planting led to whithering of the plants after the initial germination phase. Lysenko was responsible for many other foolish notions most based upon the precept that environment not genetics determine plant characteristics. Lysenko argued that if you grew plants a little farther north each year they would adapt to the climate and eventually you would be able to grow oranges in the arctic. All of the Lysenko nonsense had to be accepted in the Soviet Union and promoted in propaganda as scientific truth. The Marxists in China apparently believed it was the truth. The reality was that this nonsense resulted in diminished production of food under conditions of bare survival."

Agriculture Without Fertilizer: Following Lysenko's recommendations, Chinese Communists stopped using chemical fertilizer. (It was imagined that when seeds were deprived of fertilizer, they would "evolve" by adapting to this new situation thus ensuring the same yield without the use of fertilizing additives.) This experiment caused yet another great loss in agricultural production.

"All these initiatives, relying as they did on Lysenko's myth of evolution, caused the greatest famine in history. But although millions were dying of starvation, no one dared criticize the regime or the calamity it caused. One individual, General Peng Dehuai, the defense minister, wrote Mao a letter in which he tried to describe this disastrous famine. Later he was accused of being a "rightist" and was eliminated. During the famine, official reports all falsified the situation by saying that brilliant results had been achieved in agricultural production. Moreover, in order to convince the world of this lie, China exported vast amounts of grain. While people were dying of starvation in some areas of the country, grain and rice were being kept in warehouses, later to be exported.

In 1927, less than ten years after the 1917 Revolution within in the old Czarist Russian Empire that led to the formation of the Soviet Union, Lysenko observed that pea seeds germinated faster when the seeds were maintained at low temperatures. Lysenko mistakenly concluded that the low temperature forced analteration in seed species. In fact, what was occurring was simply the result of the natural variation in the ability of seeds to grow and thrive in colder temperatures.

Lysenko's conclusions were based upon the teachings of Russian horticulturist I. V. Michurin (1855-1935), who was a proponent of the widely discredited Larmarckian theory that organisms evolved through the acquisition of traits that best adapted them to their environments (evolution by acquired characteristics). During the 19th century, French anatomist Jean-Baptiste Lamarck (1744-1829) had attempted to explain why giraffes had long necks. Lamarck had reasoned that a giraffe, by exercising its neck muscles (e.g., during the act of stretching to get leaves), acquired the ability to pass on morphological changes to their offspring.

Lamarck's theory of evolution by acquired characteristics was, however, incorrect. Individual traits are, for the most part, determined by an inherited code contained in the DNA of each cell and are not affected by use or disuse. In contrast, Darwinian natural selection accurately explains the long necks of the giraffe as a physical adaptation that enabled a greater exploitation of a readily available food supply. The increased availability of a food supply resulted in enhanced reproductive success carriers of genes that allowed the development of long necks.

Despite the fact the theory of evolution by acquired characteristics was widely discarded as pseudoscience (science based upon false premises or theories), the political patronage and terror under Soviet dictator Joseph Statlin allowed Lysenko to implement a series of "politically correct" agricultural plans that, although in tune with communist ideology, drastically reduced Soviet crop production.

Lysenkoism, the environmental movement is built on bad science created around an ideology. It is not scientific, it is inherently anti-scientific because it transforms science into a tool of dogma and then suppresses the views of everyone who disagrees. When liberals insist that their opponents are anti-science, they mean that in the same way that they mean their opponents are anti-democratic-- because in their minds once they have appropriated an institution, be it scientific or political, they also feel that they now own its name as well. Accordingly when liberals denounce their political opponents as anti-science or anti-education or anti-democratic, or for that matter racist or misogynist, they are not only accusing others of their own sins, but treating entire fields, ideas and billions of people as their wholly owned property in whose name they alone can speak.

But the reactionary nature of liberalism does not begin or end with its quasi-mystical faith in Gaia. Liberalism does not simply demand that we cast aside modern technology, it also demands that we cast aside modern ideas of individualism, nationalism and economic freedom... in favor of submitting to the power of an overriding state that will care for us for our own good.

When liberal pundits accuse tea party protesters of longing for the good old days, it is in fact the pundits themselves who in true reactionary fashion long for the good old days. Not just the good old days of the USSR, but the good old days when the common people kept their heads down and listened to their betters. To hear the MSNBC talking heads bewail the danger of the armed mobs at Town Halls, you might think that you were listening to royalists bemoaning the French Revolution. But theirs is an equally elitist worldview in which power comes not from the voice of the people telling their representatives, but from the people listening to their representatives telling them what to do.

kind of hard to do if the ladies aren't sticking around because the guys are all broke from the gender controls of the feminists running the government... sigh. wonder what the statistics are on dildos?

"Researchers have long known that not only is sex fun (when done with the right person, of course), but that people who have frequent sex tend to live longer and have healthier hearts and lower rates of certain cancers. These studies also show that men with an active sex life have healthier sperm, and sexually active women have fewer menopause symptoms."

The story goes on to report that studies show the following benefits as well:

1. A longer life
2. A healthier heart
3. Lower blood pressure
4. Lower risk of breast cancer
5. Lower risk of prostate cancer
6. Pain relief
7. A slimmer physique
8. Better testosterone levels

Muslims and Muslim Countries (and Turkey and the EU as an Example)

...At this junction the statements of Turkeys leaders speak for themselves.

“Erdogan added that during his term as Istanbul’s mayor, he “closely examined” the Jewish people. And these are the conclusions of the anthropologist research he conducted: “Most Jews don’t buy property, but rent apartments in the best places in the city. This is because they believe the money disappears if you buy the property. We, on the other hand, waste every penny we have on buying a house.””

when it comes to the http://xrl.us/Islamic religion all you have to do is read their literature.

I believe that you fear having to prosecute people for being Islamic. there is a Democratic way to do this. the very text of the Quran is enough of a “warrant” to search every Mosque for signs that they follow these http://xrl.us/Islamic rules. If you see signs that Muslims are following the hate in their texts then deport them. This is enlightened thinking to believe you can protect your citizens from murder.

...it isn’t rocket science. it is common sense.

When the http://xrl.us/Islamic religion says it wants to kill you. they mean it.

we sometimes have to make judgments about Islam generally, whether as currently practiced in a particular country or as we might worry that it might be practiced by many in a generation or so. I can’t see how it would be reasonable for Europeans to decide on Turkish membership in the EU without worrying in some measure about the risk that I describe.

Again, in most situations that involve our own citizens or residents, we should treat individual Muslims as individuals, and focus on each person’s actions rather than his theology. That’s the best American tradition, which has served us very well as to other religions, and is generally likely to serve us well as to Muslims, too — especially given that many Muslims are American citizens, and that American needs their help in many contexts (e.g., to serve the government as translators, to report jihadist and other criminal activity by other Muslims in their communities, and so on). But in foreign policy, broader judgments may often be necessary.

why the discrepancy? Islam is still Islam... foreign or domestic!

Can the Police Now Use Thermal Imaging Devices Without a Warrant?

Labels: »
As these devices slowly migrate into the public's hands, you can be certain that these tools will be used by citizens to focus on ways to get actual evidence to request a warrant from the police, but the courts for now have banned the use of these tools to qualify for a search independently.
In Kyllo, the police used an infrared thermal imaging device called an “Agema Thermovision 210″ to scan a suspect’s home from the city street. The scan tool a few minutes, and it revealed that the roof over Kyllo’s garage was unusually hot — a sign, the government though, that the suspect was growing marijuana under heat lamps in the garage attic. The Supreme Court announced the following rule: “when . . . the Government uses a device that is not in general public use, to explore details of the home that would previously have been unknowable without physical intrusion, the surveillance is a “search” and is presumptively unreasonable without a warrant.” Because infrared temperature sensing was not in “general public use,” the thermal imaging was a “search” that required a warrant.

Confusing Overrepresentation with Domination

Labels:
...and no doubt a shrewd politician like Ron Paul or Obama takes advantage of these biases and finds ways to signify his intent to fight an unspeakable threat, without identifying this threat specifically.

some 25% of American gentiles believe that “the Jews” deserved at least “a moderate amount” of “blame” for the financial crisis. This view is likely based in large part on extrapolation from the over representation of Jews among prominent bankers and financiers.
Reinforcing the paranoia [of the Nazis about Jews] was the belief that Weimar culture was inspired and controlled by Jews. Indeed, was not the entire regime a Judenrepublik? There was very little basis for this last doxology, resting as it did on the contradictory theories that Jews dominated both Bolshevism and the international capitalist network.
similar to how Bush was ostracized for being under the influence by Jews.
many people (including prominent scholars such as Mearsheimer and Walt), believe that neoconservatism is a Jewish movement that promotes specifically Jewish interests. As David explained, this belief is primarily based on fallacious deductions from the overrepresentation of Jews among neocon intellectuals. He correctly emphasizes that it ignores key facts: that the views of Jewish neoconservatives differ little from those of gentile ones, that neocon hawkishness on the Arab-Israeli conflict is just one facet of their hawkishness on other foreign policy issues unrelated to Israel (and therefore not likely to to be a specifically Jewish agenda), and that the over representation of Jews among neocons is similar to that in many other intellectual movements (including plenty that were opposed to neoconservatism on most issues). As in Weimar Germany and early 20th century Russia, Jews tend to be overrepresented in numerous intellectual movements because a higher percentage of Jews than gentiles are intellectuals. It’s hard to find a major intellectual movement of the last 100 years where Jews were not overrepresented relative to their percentage of the general population, with the obvious exception of movements that were anti-Semitic or centered around a non-Jewish religion such as Catholicism. For similar reasons, Jews tend to be overrepresented in many occupations that require higher education and intellectual skills, which helps explain why they were and are overrepresented among finance capitalists.

...In reality, Jewish capitalists tended to behave much like gentile ones, focusing primarily on maximizing their profits. Jewish communists such as Leon Trotsky were brutal totalitarians. But their gentile counterparts, such as Lenin and Stalin, were much the same.

European rabbis up in arms over body scanners

Labels: »
I'm not orthodox, but I agree. It isn't too much to ask for gender specific observers. this shouldn't be just for the religious. are we going to deny that sexuality exists?
Several European rabbis are up in arms over the prospect of full body scanners being used on passengers at airports. The rabbis, from Milan, London, Paris and Antwerp, have issued a press release in which they suggest a solution that would satisfy the sensitivities of Orthodox Jews while meeting the need for increased security in airline travel.
"We would recommend that men are scanned by men, and women by women, like body frisks," they wrote.

One of the European rabbis agreed to weigh in on the halachic aspects of using the scanner.

"I do not intend to give a halachic opinion and I do not know what actually is shown on the screen, but if it shows the female body then it could be against the laws of modesty," said Rabbi Ya'akov Schmahl, a member of Antwerp's rabbinical court.

The rabbi explained that according to Jewish law it is permitted for a male doctor to treat female patients even if he touches them and sees parts of their body that are normally covered because presumably a doctor is focused on his work and is not inclined to prurience.

"But if women are not happy - and there are religious women who prefer not to go to male doctors - they should be allowed to be monitored by women. And men might also might not want to show themselves before women."

I don't know about the rest of you, and I don't know what these scanners show, but I'm not real comfortable with the idea either. If I meet up with one (which is possible because they're using them in London and I tend to fly through there a lot when I go to Boston), I'm going to ask for a manual search instead.

UPDATE 5:35 PM

Reader Danny F sent me images taken from the full body scanner in the Salt Lake City, Utah airport. This is exactly what the technician sees. Note that the faces are blurred.
Hmmm. I doubt this would qualify for Rule 5.

James von Brunn, Alleged Holocaust Musem Shooter, Dead in Prison at Age 89

Labels:
Von Brunn was a frequent commentor on Ron Paul's website and was a registered Democrat. I'm shocked that Von Brunn didn't get a hand shaking ceremony at the Obama White House. his tactics and philosophy is no different then the writing and activism of Abbas and Fatah.
James von Brunn, the 89-year-old St. Louis native and Washington University graduate who made headlines in June for storming the National Holocaust Museum in Washington D.C. and killing a security guard, has died in prison, according to several news reports.

Von Brunn died just before 1 p.m. today (noon CST), says an official at Butner federal prison in Butner, North Carolina. Von Brunn was in poor health and had a history of heart problems.

On June 10, he opened fire at the Holocaust National Museum and was injured in a firefight with security. A guard was killed and von Brunn was injured.

Von Brunn was awaiting trial for the murder of Stephen T. Johns, a black security guard who worked at the museum. In von Brunn's car, investigators found a notebook with more racist messages, specifically one that read "Obama was created by Jews," according to court documents. Before the domain name expired, von Brunn operated the Holy Western Empire Web site, which was chock-full of anti-Semitic and racist essays penned by von Brunn.

As Chad Garrison reported in the days following the shooting, von Brunn was a native St. Louisan and was involved in student life at Washington University in the late 1930s and early 1940s.

[Von Brunn] got his undergraduate degree in journalism from Washington University where he attended from 1938 to 1943. While at the school von Brunn was president of the SAE fraternity and played on university's football team. Now here's the original speculation I published hours after the shootings...
