67% of US Hate Crimes are Against Jews

Our friend Debbie Schlussel is on the ball, yet again, with exclusive analysis on hate crimes in America:

Well, the FBI official hate crimes statistics are out for 2008. And like every year since the 9/11 Muslim terrorist attacks on America, the vast majority of religious hate crime victims on U.S. soil are America’s Jews. While the Pentagon and US Army did overtime pandering to Muslims like Nidal Malik Hasan, the real hatred was against one set of his mortal enemies.......more than a few of those anti-Semitic hate crime perpetrators are, in fact, Muslims....Missing from the FBI stats are the stats on the perpetrators of these crimes, which I’d bet would be very telling.

EXCLUSIVE Analysis: Sorry, Islamophobia Pimps – 67% of US Hate Crimes Against Jews

FBIhatecrimes2008-1

fbihatecrimes2008-2

That’s right. A whopping 66.69%–or just over 2/3rds–of America’s religion-based hate crime incidents are committed against Jews. But, hey, there’s no anti-Semitism. I’m just imagining it. The real condition afflicting America is Islamophobia, right? Let’s ignore that only 6.91% of hate crime incidents were against Muslims, with Catholics very close behind comprising 4.94% of hate crime incident victims. Sadly, some Catholic leaders look the other way on anti-Semitism (more on that below).

Another fact that is very inconvenient to Muslim propaganda is the fact that hate crimes against Jews and Catholics are growing, but hate crimes against Muslims, not. In 2007, there were 969 reported hate crime incidents against Jews in America. In 2008, it’s 1,013. In 2007, there were 61 anti-Catholic incidents. In 2008, there were 75. For Muslims, in 2007 there were 115 reported incidents against them. In 2008, it’s 105. And all of this is despite the fact that unlike other groups, Islamic groups work overtime to get alleged Islamic victims to report hate crimes.

fbihatecrimes-1a

fbihatecrimes2007-2

Yup, America’s hate is carried out not against the fellow co-religionists of the 9/11 hijackers–you know, the Muslims. They’re carried out against the most hated targets of the Muslims: the “evil Zionists.” And–guess what?–more than a few of those anti-Semitic hate crime perpetrators are, in fact, Muslims. Missing from the FBI stats are the stats on the perpetrators of these crimes, which I’d bet would be very telling.

Groups like CAIR, ADC, ISNA, MAS, and MPAC–the alphabet soup of Muslim and Muslim-dominated Arab groups–love to tout “Islamophobia” as a vast and wide-spread “bigotry” in America. But it ain’t so. The numbers simply don’t back it up.

Incidentally, while I lament that hate crimes against Catholics are slightly up, I have to laugh at Bill Donohue, President of the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights, who was quoted in USA Today upset over this. I made him aware that Emily M. Zanotti, a Catholic working for his Catholic friend Richard Thompson at the Catholic Thomas More Law Center, spent all day long on the payroll blogging in support and praise of Muslim Holocaust-denying anti-Semitic death, rape, and torture threats against me and my family (including my Holocaust survivor grandmother). He looked the other way. Ms. Zanotti is now employed by the Sam Adams Alliance, which is aware of her anti-Semitism and praise for violence and torture . . . and doesn’t care. Michelle Malkin (also Catholic) was made aware of this and continues to help Zanotti and Sam Adams Alliance, anyway.

Stuff like this is why anti-Semitic hate crimes are up. It’s not just Muslims and others who are perpetrating it. It’s phonies in positions of influence who are looking the other way and giving it tacit approval.

Candidly Speaking: Why does so much of the world hate us?

By ISI LEIBLER

The question is particularly valid in relation to Europe, which has turned so dramatically against us. When analyzing the changed attitudes of many European countries, one must take into account their redefinition of themselves as "enlightened" post-modernist secular societies which shun all manifestations of nationalism. In this configuration Israel is no longer considered a revival of Jewish nationhood, but as a colonial implant which many would be happy to see somehow disappear as a national entity.

And of course, there is the new anti-Semitism in which demonization of Israel has become the surrogate for traditional Jew-hatred. Just as the Jews in the Middle Ages were accused of all the ills of mankind, so today the Jewish state is increasingly being held responsible for the principal woes facing humanity.

In this environment, the Left and many liberals now focus their revolutionary fervor and rage against Israel, and have succeeded in hijacking human rights groups to serve as vehicles to undermine us.

IN THE international arena, the automatic majority of Islamic and other radical states guarantees the passage of all anti-Israeli resolutions initiated at international organizations such as the United Nations, no matter how absurd. The so-called United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), which includes the worst tyrannies and rogue states among its leading members, is just one example. People throughout the world unfamiliar with the intricacies of the UN or the history of the Arab-Israeli conflict are bombarded with constant reports of resolutions from a supposedly reputable body condemning Israel as a rogue state. Thus, the false narrative of the Islamic majority, automatically endorsed by compromised international agencies, becomes embedded in the public consciousness. Simultaneously, there are realpolitik considerations resulting from the ascendancy of the Islamic world and the increased clout of oil-producing countries at a time when securing energy has become the national priority for most nations. This, together with the growing empowerment of radical Islamic immigrant groups throughout Europe, has resulted in many countries siding against Israel rather than confronting the rage and violence of the jihadists within their own borders.

It is in this context that Israel remains the only country in the world whose very right to exist is challenged.

It also highlights the dilemma we face. The more concessions we made over the past decade in order to reach an accommodation with our neighbors, the greater has been the terror unleashed against us and the more our international standing has eroded.

Ironically, despite the rising tide of hatred against us, on objective grounds we should be more entitled to receive the support of people of goodwill and genuine liberals today than ever in the past.

Israel remains the only democracy in the region; 20 percent of its inhabitants are Arab citizens who enjoy equal rights and freedom of expression, and elect their representatives to the Knesset.

In contrast, our despotic neighbors are autocracies or dictatorships that deny freedom of religion and many other basic human rights. They also include the only countries in the world which deny Jews the right of domicile. And yet, we are the ones depicted as a racist apartheid state.

Even under a right-wing government, a broad consensus in Israel supports a two-state solution and is desperate not to rule over the Palestinians. Two Israeli prime ministers offered to cede virtually all the territories gained in wars initiated by enemies seeking to destroy us. The offers were rejected by both Yasser Arafat and his successor Mahmoud Abbas.

The Sharon government unilaterally disengaged from Gaza and dismantled long-standing settlements. Thousands of Israelis who had transformed deserts into gardens were forcibly evacuated and forced to forfeit their livelihoods and homes. Yet the moment the settlements were evacuated, they were converted by the Palestinians into launching pads for intensified missile attacks and terrorism that culminated in the Gaza conflict.

WE ARE confronted by two Palestinian entities. Hamas, the terrorist group ruling over Gaza, unequivocally demands the total destruction of the Jewish state and unashamedly calls for the physical extermination of Jews. The other is the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank, headed by Mahmoud Abbas, who we are told represents a moderate partner for peace. Yet Abbas speaks with a forked tongue, and to this day still sanctifies suicide bombers as martyrs and provides their families with state pensions. The PA-controlled media, education system and mosques continue to promote anti-Semitism and demand the dissolution of the Jewish state.

Fully aware of these realities, most European states nevertheless apply double standards against the Jewish state. Many either applauded or stood by while the Arabs and their allies accused us of committing war crimes. This, despite the fact that the conflict against Hamas was only launched after thousands of missiles had been directed at Israeli civilians for years.

The IDF's unprecedented steps of telephoning civilians and distributing pamphlets warning of impending attacks in order to minimize civilian casualties were ignored, as was the submission to the UNHRC by the former commander of British forces in Afghanistan, Col. Richard Kemp, who stated that "the IDF did more to safeguard the rights of civilians in a combat zone than any army in the history of warfare."

In such a climate, it is almost inevitable that "enlightened" global public opinion regards us as a rogue state and an even greater threat to world peace than North Korea or Iran.

It is frequently alleged that we are responsible for the world turning against us. We are told that Israel's military superiority (in the absence of which it would not exist) has created sympathy for the Arab underdog. There is no disputing Palestinian misery and suffering, but it is rarely pointed out that this is a direct byproduct of the policies adopted by their leaders. We are frequently admonished to cease killing terrorists and negotiate with Hamas. Would anyone seriously suggest that the United States negotiate with al-Qaida or cease efforts to kill terrorists planning attacks against its civilians?

I am confident that any objective evaluation would undoubtedly morally validate our broad efforts to achieve peace in the face of Palestinian intransigence. It would also demonstrate that the constant portrayal of Israel as a rogue state by purportedly reputable international organizations such as the United Nations dominated by our enemies, have now become embedded in the public consciousness. This has been facilitated by the opportunism, bias and cowardice of much of the "enlightened" world.

Jewish Internet Defense Force: As Predicted, Netanyahu Displays Weakness: Gives into Obama/Islamic Terrorist Demands

As Predicted, Netanyahu Displays Weakness: Gives into Obama/Islamic Terrorist Demands

It's a shame when Jewish "leaders" give into demands that only whet the appetite of our enemies to destroy us. So long as terrorist organizations like Hamas, Fatah, Hezbollah, PFLP, and others are promoting hatred and violence against the Jewish people and Israel, these gestures - like the announcement the Israeli government made today - are absolutely absurd. Despite ridiculous claims that this is a good thing, and all the support from the mainstream Jewish establishment, common sense and morality dictate that this announcement only promotes more bloodshed and is not a viable step toward peace whatsoever.  Jews should be working to expand the Land of Israel.  We should not freeze our growth.  Courageous leaders would not give into international pressure.  Courageous leaders would build more Jewish settlements each time we're asked to stop.  So long as our enemies are plotting and thirsting for our destruction every day, the only viable option is to do everything in our power to extinguish their hope.  Anyone who thinks this conflict is about the national aspirations of the "Palestinian" people is terribly misguided.  This is not a conflict over land.  This is about Jewish survival and growth in the face of an Islamic terrorist threat in which Israel is on the front lines.  As we should all know by now, the global jihad is real and has nothing to do with Jewish settlements in Israel.  Therefore, Jewish leaders should not be working to promote the "freezing" of Jewish growth in the Land of Israel.  We should be working to promote basic education, morality, and common sense about the conflict, and not lend credence to the false propaganda of our enemies by giving into the ridiculous demands to halt our growth.

PM Netanyahu broke campaign promise

Rightist camp blasts decision to temporarily halt West Bank construction. Marzel: Prepare to topple Netanyahu, toss him into the trash bin of Jewish history along with Olmert, Sharon

(YNET) The Yesha Council said Wednesday that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu broke a campaign promise by declaring a 10-month West Bank construction freeze.

Earlier Wednesday, Yesha Council heads rejected Defense Minister Ehud Barak's request to meet with them on Thursday.

The leaders said that Barak has been "conspiring against settlement construction for some time, prior to the decision on a temporary freeze.

"He is even refusing to approve the construction of classrooms and kindergartens," the council said in a statement.

The Yesha Council heads held an emergency meeting Wednesday evening with the participation of Likud Knesset members Danny Danon and Tzipi Hotovely.

"So far, Netanyahu received a slap in the face from the "Palestinians" and in return he gave them a settlement freeze. Throughout his entire political career Netanyahu has preached against unilateral measures, and now, shortly after entering office, he is renouncing his own worldview," said Yesha Council chairman Danny Dayan.

"The Netanyahu government was elected based on its promise to promote settlement activity in the West Bank, but immediately after it was established this government began to constrain the settlement enterprise. The cabinet ministers are obligated to prevent this," he said.

'Prevent another Sharon trauma'

MK Hotovely told Ynet, "We are calling on the PM to return to the principles of the Likud party. The party's charter does not make a distinction between the status of the West Bank and east Jerusalem – that is Kadima's charter.

"We must not adopt the Left's policy after the Israeli public voted Right. We'll continue building in the West Bank," she said, adding, "No one in Israel actually believes this move will jumpstart the (peace) negotiations."

MK Danon aid, "We were elected to bolster the settlement enterprise, not freeze construction. The freeze constitutes a statement that the settlements are an obstacle to peace, while up until this point Likud has backed the concept that the settlers guarantee Israel's security.

"We will demand that Netanyahu bring the issue to a Likud faction and Central Committee vote, to make certain that the Sharon trauma does not repeat itself," said the MK, referring to former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's decision to unilaterally pullout from Gaza.

The Binyamin Settlers' Committee called Netanyahu a "leader with weak character who succumbed without a fight to pressure from the Arabs and the Americans, and decided to wipe out the Jewish settlement enterprise."

Baruch Marzel called on his camp to "prepare to topple Netanyahu and toss him into the trash bin of Jewish history, together with the scoundrels (former PMs) Ehud Olmert and Sharon, who betrayed their constituents and their path."

Looks like David Appletree was right. Bibi? I'm very disappointed. This had better lead to #GiladShalit returned alive or there will be hell to pay for betrayal of this level of blind handshaking.

Remains of British journalist Alec Collett found in Lebanon | Media | guardian.co.uk

The remains of a British journalist who was kidnapped almost 25 years ago have been found in Lebanon, the Foreign Office confirmed today.

Experts found human bones in the Bekaa Valley last week and tests have now shown that they are Alec Collett's remains.

He was kidnapped at gunpoint in 1985 while working on an article for the United Nations about Palestinian refugees in Lebanon.

The following year his captors released a poor quality videotape showing a hooded figure who had apparently been hanged, but who was never formally identified.

Today his family said they were relieved he could finally be laid to rest.

A Foreign Office spokeswoman said: "The family are pleased to have closure after 24 years. Private arrangements will now be made."

Collett was one of several Britons targeted by one of the deadliest terrorist organisations of the day, the renegade Palestinian Abu Nidal group, which was backed successively by Iraq and Libya. The group claimed to have killed Collett, then 64, in revenge for a US air raid on Libya in April 1986, in which American planes flew from bases in Britain. Four years ago former member Zaid Hassan Safarini told the Sunday Times he witnessed the Briton's murder in 1986.

Sabri al-Banna, Abu Nidal's leader, had reportedly thought that Collett could be swapped for three members jailed in Britain after the attempted assassination in 1982 of Shlomo Argov, the Israeli ambassador to London.

The UN tried three times between 1995 and 2000 to find Collett's body. A spokesman for UN secretary-general Ban Ki-moon said today: "The secretary-general appreciates the role played by the relevant authorities in the United Kingdom and in Lebanon to resolve this matter after so many years.

"He is grateful for the work done by the Department of Safety and Security in helping to determine what happened to Mr Collett. Although he is saddened by Alec Collett's death, he hopes that the actions taken to find his remains can provide a measure of comfort to his loved ones.

"The secretary-general expresses his sincere sympathies to Alec Collett's family and would like to restate the commitment of the United Nations to assist them in the days ahead."

Collett was one of more than 80 foreigners who were taken hostage in Lebanon between 1984 and 1991. Fourteen were British nationals, including Terry Waite, the special envoy of the archbishop of Canterbury, and John McCarthy, then a television reporter. Most were held by Lebanese Shia groups with links to Iran.

our political correct world has forgotten about what is Hezbollah... why? because they have also forgotten what Fatah is.

The Saudi Camel in the Room

Meanwhile the same US military brass which covered up Nidal Malik Hasan's violent Islamism, both before and after his attack, is sending signals that the real threat to the lives of US soldiers is Israeli housing. In fact of course Israeli houses have not killed anyone. Houses rarely do unless they fall on a wicked witch in the fabled land of Oz. It is killers, not houses, that kill. Hasan was an enemy from within. One of those friendly Religion of Peace types whose poor sensitive feelings every level of government has spent so much time nurturing. Yet none of it prevented him opening fire on the unarmed soldiers he was supposed to care for. Instead all the years of tolerating his growing homicidal rage sent him the signal that his anger was justified and that he could act with impunity.

Today, ISNA is privileged by the Obama administration; its president, Ingrid Mattson, appeared at the Obama inauguration, and was invited to the White House iftar, or Ramadan fast-breaking meal. She was accompanied to the iftar by Imam Yahya Hendy, the Islamic chaplain at Georgetown University. Hendy, it turns out, knew Nidal Hasan when the latter served at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Md., where Hendy also officiates as a chaplain.

"We should be glad that the authorities have moved to shut down the financial dealings of the Iranian clerical dictatorship in the U.S. , as represented by the Alavi Foundation. And we should be relieved that groups like HLF and the other terror supporters have been curbed. But until the real nature of ISNA, MSA, and ICNA is exposed, with their leaders fully investigated, and, where appropriate, charged and tried, Americans will remain disarmed in the face of the radical Islam – on our own soil."

Senate Committee called on the IRS to collect financial information on 24 Islamist groups operating in the U.S.:

Al-Haramain Foundation

Alavi Foundation

Benevolence International Foundation

Global Relief Foundation

Help the Needy

Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development

Human Appeal International

Institute of Islamic and Arabic Sciences in America

International Islamic Relief Organization or Internal Relief Organization

Islamic African Relief Society and/or Islamic American Relief Agency

Islamic Assembly of North America

Islamic Association for Palestine

Islamic Circle of North America

Islamic Foundation of America

Islamic Society of North America

Kind Hearts

Muslim Arab Youth Association

Muslim Student Association

Muslim World League

Rabita Trust

SAAR Foundation and all members and related entities

Solidarity International and/or Solidarity USA

United Association for Studies and Research

World Assembly of Muslim Youth

Most of these organizations are obscure for ordinary, non-Muslim Americans even today. But with the exception of the Iran-directed Alavi Foundation, which was the object of an assets seizure proceeding this month, and leaving aside the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the Muslim American Society (MAS), and a few other absent players, the list provides a map of the “Wahhabi lobby” of radical Muslim proponents in American. These organizations are financed by, and in some cases act as direct agencies of, powerful institutions in Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, in tandem with their allies in the Muslim Brotherhood.

g-d is beyond any words... and there is no defining constructs to understanding his language... but we try anyway and listen. "Jewish belief that our world, and everything inside of it, is created from G‑d's speech at every given moment. " do we really think we can own g-d's words? perhaps we listen when we know we can never really fully understand

Reciting the Shema is more than just saying words. It's meant to be heard, as well as said. That's the meaning of the word, "Shema"--meaning, "Listen and take this seriously." In order to do that, we don't want to be distracted by anything around us. Closing our eyes enhances our concentration. (Code of Jewish Law, O.C. 61:5)

The Talmud (Berachot 13b) traces this practice to the great Rabbi Judah the Prince. While teaching Torah, he would often interrupt his lesson to recite the Shema, and his students would observe him passing his hand over his eyes at the moment that he said the verse.

The deeper answer: The meaning of the Shema goes way beyond the belief in only one G‑d. "G-d is One" declares that there is no existence outside of G‑d.

Thanksgiving can be plumbing nightmare

Andy Wallner, co-owner of Wallner Plumbing Heating and Air Conditioning, checks a toilet for leaks in the home of John Church and his son Bob Midgley on Tuesday. The Thanksgiving holiday is a busy time for plumbers.

Backed-up toilets. Clogged drains. A garbage disposal that was forced to gobble down as much as you did the night before.

Yes, it's true. The day after Thanksgiving isn't just the busiest day of the year for retail outlets. Plumbers around the country say their business booms around turkey day.

"Mostly it's sewers backing up because so many people are there," said Frank Flores, the owner of Modern Plumbing Company in Redding.

Flores said beyond a doubt Thanksgiving and the day after are his busiest days of the year.

It's the same on a national level.

Frank Flores of Modern Plumbing puts in a new sewer line in a Redding home on Tuesday. Flores said he will be on call Thursday. "Last year, I was digging on Thanksgiving," Flores said. "Pretty much the same thing. It's one of those necessities you don't think about until it's not there anymore."

Calls for service this Friday to plumbing giant Roto-Rooter will double over an average Friday, said spokesman Paul Abrams.

Indeed, the four-day Thanksgiving weekend represents a 21 percent increase above any other Thursday-through-Sunday period of the year.

"It's kind of like your arteries sort of clogging up because you eat hamburgers and red meat all year," Abrams said. "Thanksgiving is the heart attack."

Local plumbers say piping problems are bound to happen after the country's No. 1 feasting day.

But it's not just human waste that can cause plumbing problems.

Patrick Wallner, co-owner of Wallner Plumbing Heating and Air Conditioning in Redding, said garbage disposals and other drain problems lead to most of his service calls.

Potato peels and celery stalks can lead to nightmarish results when crammed down a disposal.

Wallner recounts one call in which he had to pull three balls of stringy celery goop out of a home's roof vents.

"The string creates the biggest mess," he said.

There are also problems with hot water heaters, which often go on the fritz when so many guests show up and begin straining seldom-used showers and sinks.

"We see water heaters going out left and right," Wallner said.

Israel Matzav: Hamas promises Marwan Barghouti he will be part of any deal

Hamas has promised Fatah Tanzim terror leader Marwan Barghouti that he will be released as part of any exchange for kidnapped IDF soldier Gilad Shalit.
Tanzim terrorist head Marwan Barghouti, who is serving five live terms in an Israeli prison for his role in murdering over 30 Jews, has been promised that he will be released in any deal to exchange kidnapped IDF soldier Gilad Shalit for terrorists held by Israel. Barghouti was made the promise by Hamas leaders, a Hamas source told Arab media, although he himself belongs to the Fatah terror group.

this is why you don't take prisoners. the moment you take prisoners you signal to a violent enemy for them to do the same. if the man was a murderer then Israel should of given him death.
